Cognition embraced itself, but only as an endless abyss gaping in the void inside another endless abyss. And the absence lasted indefinitely, everywhere, always, with only one dimension. Suddenly another dimension appeared, and the ever-lasting ceased to be eternal. Acrylic on fiberboard, 24x39cm / 32x48cm framed. Blue stragglers were a puzzle for astronomers for decades. They are often found within a cluster of other much older stars. Unlike their more ancient neighbors, they appear inexplicably hotter; thus younger and bluer. As it turns out the blue stragglers are vampires. They have been sucking away hydrogen from the stars surrounding them.

While painting this piece I had no idea of the myths and symbols behind chrysanthemum flowers, just a strong feeling that the scene is connected the Sun, and the Sun particles spread to all gloomy corners. While preparing to publish it I've researched that a chrysanthemum is indeed an old Asian symbol of the Sun, a rejuvenation, and is connected to Japanese Sun goddess Amaterasu, that is not only born out of the left eye, but also had a pretty narcissistic weakness for mirrors 👁🌸
