These chalk pastel ghosts were a lesson in drapery. We worked on large 26x18 in sheets of paper, rendering the folds of a sheet over a basketball perched on a stool! These spooky ghosts were done by kids ages 10-14 at Art Spot Studio.

To begin their spider web art project, 5th grade students had to first draw two spiders onto black construction paper using glue. After the glue dried, students used colored chalk to draw converging lines from the center point of their papers out to create the illusion of depth for their background. The papers were then wiped off to soften the background lines and then students drew a rotational symmetric spider web on top using white chalk.
