The Real Teatro di San Carlo (Royal Theatre of Saint Charles), its original name under the Bourbon Monarchy but known today as simply the Teatro di San Carlo, is an Opera House in Naples, Italy. It is located adjacent to the central Piazza del Plebiscito, and connected to the Royal Palace. It is the oldest continuously active venue for public opera in the world, opening in 1737, decades before both the Milan's La Scala and Venice's La Fenice theatres.

Employing both 4x5 and 8x10 Arca-Swiss cameras that maximize detail, David Leventi creates a body of large scale photographs that document the intricate interiors of famous national and international opera houses, as well as roundhouse prisons, stadiums and palazzi. In these dramatic photographs, Leventi seeks to alter both lateral and vertical symmetry in order to flatten out the spaces, giving the viewer the effect of being completely surrounded by the spaces.

My photostream on Black La Scala (Italian: Teatro alla Scala), is a world renowned opera house in Milan, Italy. The theater was inaugurated on 3 August 1778 and was originally known as the New Royal Theater at La Scala. It is possible to visit during the day but it is not allowed to take pictures.
