Renee Cusano on Instagram: "For hard to adhere surfaces (like IKEA particleboard furniture) or high risk stain bleedthru surfaces (like wood paneling or wood knots) BIN primer is what I use.

Always wear gloves and a mask with proper ventilation if using to cover a large area because it stinks!

Use a cheap brush to apply it because -
1. it dries too fast to use a roller,
2. it self levels well enough that a quick sand should get rid of your brush strokes and
3. you can throw the brush away when you’re done instead of buying ultra flammable denatured alcohol for clean up

Because it is solvent based with lots of alcohol in it, it is super thin and VERY drippy so get used to the viscosity before using it on your desired surface

Since it dries so fast - 15 mins - I like to do 2 coats wi Primer For Kitchen Cabinets, Bin Primer, Quick Sand, Hit Or Miss, Wet Sand, High Risk, Furniture Makeovers, Wood Paneling, Furniture Makeover

Paula Glasmann | DIY | Boy + Bonus Mom Life on Instagram: "Two coats of good primer should do the trick, if it’s really bad, do a third coat of primer!

The Zinsser shellac based Bin Primer will cover the BEST, but it’s NOT cleaned with water… they also make a water based Bin Primer that is also very good. You choose!

If you want great painting tips, follow @allaboutthe_paint ! She’s the best!
