We did 1 cup of each. Thinly slice 2 pears and add to the sugar syrup. Let simmer for 20 minutes. Turn off the heat and leave in the pot for another 30 minutes of until they look translucent. Transfer to a baking tray lined with parchment paper (very carefully) Add your pressed violas and brush on a little extra syrup as glue. Heat over to 250 degrees. Bake pear slices for 1 hour. Remove from parchment and thread twine through the top using a skewer to help. Tie off.
