Based off Zhuoxin Ye's concept 'Sword' and with Roumen Filipov's mentorship! - Both of them are on Art Station so please check them out! - A 12 week project! I had initially sought to follow the concept more faithfully, but found that I would not get it done in time along-side seeking an internship, so down-scoped to floating islands. My process started with a blockout in UE5, to Maya, to Zbrush and back to Maya, Substance Painter and Photoshop, and replacing blockout assets in my UE scene…

In the embrace of the heavens, islands hover with an ethereal calm, bound only by the time-worn chains to the craggy mountains beneath. Distinct ecosystems flourish on each, a testament to nature's wonders. The path to these celestial realms and their hidden bounties is a tale yet to be told.

This is a very important project for me. While this specific environment didn’t take too long to create, I’ve spent the past two years studying and focusing on composition, color palettes, and sculpting in ZBrush. This piece is the result of that journey. I went through many blockouts and tests before settling on this final direction, and I’m really happy with the result. Everything in this scene was made by me, from the design to all the assets. Hope you like it! ^^
