Hi!
Did you spot the Cool Treats stamps and coordinating dies on the Retiring List? I was a little surprised to see them there, as I feel like they haven't been around long enough. I could have played more with them, but time is now short.
This is actually a card I made a year or so ago, but it's the only one I have in my "To Blog" list that uses Cool Treats. I made it when the paper was still current, and now I can't even recall the name of it. The joys of getting old! Tasty Treats DSP, that's it!!
The card was made at the height of the Pop and Twist trend a year ago. I thought the cute little ice cream cones were perfect for the 'pop' part of the card.
How cute is that sentiment? Cool Treats was such a fun suite for kid's cards, but we must say goodbye to some old products to make way fr the exciting new ones. Not long to wait now!
Bye for now,
Tina

SIP #146
Hi!
I'm back with another challenge card. This challenge site is a new one to me, I hadn't heard of it before I saw a card on FB that mentioned the site, so off I went to have a look. They just started a new challenge last night, which suited me perfectly. The team at Stamp, Ink, Paper are challenging us to make a card with a food or drink theme.
Once again, I went digging through my pile of retiring stamp sets for inspiration. I was tossing up between Cool Treats and Mixed Drinks, but I really wanted to try a 'wreath' card on my Stamparatus, so Cool Treats won the contest.
It's kind of hard to explain, and there are plenty of videos out there to watch, but you draw a template with two squares of equal sizes, overlapping with one turned 90 degrees, so you get an 8 pointed star. You then lay a piece of cardstock, cut to the same size as the square, over the template. I started stamping with the icy pole stick. I set it down so that it lined up with an imaginary line that ran from the centre of the cardstock to the corner of the cardstock. As you stamp, you then turn the cardstock so that the corner shifts to the next point in the star. LOL, you really should watch a video!
I used Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Crumb Cake and Bermuda Bay on my card. My first attempt at the wreath card was a little rough ( I won't point out my mistakes!), but overall I was happy with it. I'll certainly be trying it again!

A Sweet Day
Hi!
Sometimes even though you have a heap of new stuff to play with, you find yourself drawn to something that's been in your stash for a while. Do you ever find that? In this case I found myself pulling out Cool Treats to play with.
It probably had something to do with the 'sweet' die cut. I'd purchased the Cupcake Cutout Framelits during a promotion last month and hadn't used them yet! I'm a bit of a sucker for word die cuts, I think it's the scrapbooker in me.
Despite the Framelits not being the 'match' for this stamp set, they work together well. It was easy to chop up the stamped sentiment to replace the stamped 'sweet' with the die cut. You may be able to see the glitter over the die cut as well - there's that Wink Of Stella pen in action again!
I also used the WOS on the ice-cream for a bit of fun!

You also get free postage! It’s quick and easy to join online too. Ask me about joining today!
I did the same for the sentiment in the inside of the card. Can you see the new Tasty Treats Washi too?
Today I’m excited to bring you a blog hop with some of the awesome ladies in the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. Today we focus on the new Occasions Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Catalogue and also Sale-a-bration! If you place an order with me during Sale-a-bration, you can choose a free item with every $90 you spend in one transaction. There are lots of fabulous free items to choose from (ask me for a brochure and an Occasions Catalogue) and the promotion goes right through until 31st March.
I have three cards for you today, all using the new Cool Treats Suite of products from the Occasions Catalogue. You can find them on pages 32 and 33.
I created a shaker card first, that uses the Sprinkles Embellishments. They are a super cute assortment of coloured sequins and balls that work beautifully in a shaker card.
I just had to include one of the cherries on the top of the ice cream! The cherry was die cut using the Frozen Treats Framelits, as was the window for the shaker card. The ice cream in the middle of the card is simply the off cut from the window. Nothing goes to waste here!
There is a cute stamp set at the back of the catalogue called Suite Sentiments. It's a group of phrases that are designed to coordinate with each of the suites of products in the Occasions Catalogue. For my second card, I used the sentiments from this set that coordinated with the Cool Treats Suite.
It's so easy to get a multi-coloured sentiment - you just use your Stampin' Write markers! In this case I used my Pear Pizzazz and Watermelon Wonder markers to ink up the stamp.
I did the same for the sentiment in the inside of the card. Can you see the new Tasty Treats Washi too?
I think I kept my favourite card for last! This card uses a mix of the washi, stamps and framelits. One of the things I love best about the photopolymer stamps is that you can bend them. In this case, I've bent the sentiment on the front to fit around the curve of the circular panel. I love the effect!
It's difficult to photograph, but hopefully you can see that I cut the bowl and the spoon from our Silver Foil paper to make it look like an old fashioned sundae bowl. Did you eat out of those as kids? We had long thin ones that were perfect for banana splits!
Well, that's it from me! You're now off to visit the fabulous Judy May.
