The Green Mosque in Balkh, Afghanistan. The city has given birth to historic figures such as the poet Rumi and the scientist and philosopher Ion Sina (Avicenna). The Green Mosque was built in the 15th century during the Timurid era in Afghanistan. The outer parts are decorated with lapis lazuli.
