Teagan Jacobs on Instagram: "When draping on the dress form I often get asked “but how do you get it off the mannequin?”. And the answer is usually- hand sewing. Full disclosure I was never technically taught on how to do this, but this is the technique I use. If I’m working with a sheer fabric and can’t use a pen or pencil (which is what I would typically use) then hand sewing acts as my pencil! Here I’m doing a basting stitch on the seam allowance and the apex of the bust. I then use lots of steam directly on the dress form, which helps hold the pleats in place. Now I can remove it from the dress form and continue working on my garment. What do you think of this technique? Is it something you’ve done before or would like to try? 🏹 #teaganjacobs ✨ Mannequin is gifted from @royaldressform Diy Mannequin Form, Fabric Draping Techniques, Draping Techniques Tutorials, Basting Stitch, Drape Pattern, Draping Techniques, Silk Ribbon Embroidery Patterns, Fabric Draping, Mannequin Art

Couture Draping Instructor | Owner of @Jaellofficial on Instagram: "Heavy crinoline and horsehair fabric are definitely my two favorite fabrics to use! This weekend I’m doing a draping class that will teach you how to create a couture design using these fabrics!

This is a 3 day class. Class starts Saturday, October 12th. And the remaining two classes will be the 17th and 18th!

If you’re interested in learning how to drape using these materials, comment the word “drape” and I’ll send you the details!

Also these fabrics can be purchased from @rosafabricsatl" Couture Draping, Fashion Techniques, Couture Design, Dress Fabrics, Draping Fashion, Tres Chic, Horse Hair, Dress Fabric, Fashion Ideas
