We're proud to announce that one of New York Art Studio's Portfolio Preparation Program students this year, Lin got accepted into PARSONS Bachelor of Fine Arts- Fine Arts Major with $48,000/4yrs Merit Scholarship for 2020 Spring semester.

The ‘Till death do us part’ concept encourages consumers to give their clothes the kind of life-long commitment they deserve. Inspired by the idea of loving our clothes for life and wearing them so often that they fall apart, this concept explores the deconstruction and reconstruction of ones ‘favourite leather jacket’. Promoting slow and conscious fashion that can be passed down from generation to generation, becoming more valuable with each wear.

As part as my application for Parsons School of Design, I had to create an artwork inspired by another one in my portfolio. I chose to base my new piece in the artwork Independence? which is part of the Connections collection. I chose to create a 10-piece illustrated fashion collection which is inspired by the artwork not only aesthetically but also conceptually. The final product was a short video that showcases the two garments from the collection that I made (8 and 9 in the illustration)…

Mood

It was so Lovely to be a Juror for the Parsons School of Design and participate in the BFA Thesis review panel. The student's presentations were Exquisite and Magical! "The thesis is the capstone experience within a 4-year degree program in Fashion Design at Parsons. Seniors at Parson are encouraged to explore their own artistic vision, establish their individual voice as a designer and create their own visual aesthetic."
