This Puerto Rican classic can be made in so many delicious ways. Today, I’m serving up the traditional version with sweet plantains using my favorite @healthyrican seasonings, but I can’t wait to remake it the Dominican way 🇩🇴with boiled, smashed plantains for a twist!

Puerto Rican pastelon 🇵🇷

Ingredients:
- 5 ripe plantains (yellow with black spots)
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup sofrito (Puerto Rican seasoning base)
- 1/4 cup green olives, chopped
- 1 tsp adobo seasoning
- 1 tsp sazón (with achiote for color)
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
