Shapes & textures ✷ I’m in the process of changing clay and glaze, which every potter will know can be an absolute nightmare sometimes! It’s all about making sure they’re a good match and work in harmony :-) So to test it out I had more of a play with shapes and texture on this mug. I’m really into using underglaze pencils at the moment as I love the graphite texture; memories of of colouring outside the lines as a little one. They are newly developed by @stone.anderson.studio and new colors are coming out little by little. I used these on bone dry pieces and the application was incredible! It went on just like a crayon on paper. Then I bisque fired them and dipped them in @amacobrent zinc free clear glaze… but my bucket was kind of empty, so it went on pretty thick at the top, which is where I can see a bit of the underglaze getting foggy. I’m obsessed & can’t wait for the release of the green one! 🌿 What do you think?
