Vfx concept art

Collection of my Vfx concept art for Returnal, PS5 game. These concepts were part of the game's visual development so some of the elements were defined further for the final look.

A whimsical burst of magical particles reveals an ominous and powerful orb that can cause great damage. This original VFX is my personal interpretation of VFX Apprentice's "Wispy Cloud" exercise (www.vfxapprentice.com). All meshes were created in Blender. All dissolve maps and textures were handpainted with the exception of the orb's dissolve, which was used from the class. A big shout-out to the VFX Apprentice community for giving feedback and helping along the way!
