Clay Aztec Sun Elementary Art Building Template Handout or Printable
I teach this interdisciplinary unit to intermediate students using the Aztec Sun Stone as inspiration with a focus on pattern and texture. The finished product can be used as a mirror or picture frame. Included in my hand-drawn handout are tip for varied coils and sturdy construction. The low-relief clay sculpture is built straight on this paper, peeled, and carefully flipped once the coils have been smeared together thoroughly.
