An Important Appointment

I got up extra early this morning as I had to leave the house by 8am for an appointment with a nephrologist.  Even tho I was born with one kidney (and found that out in my 50s) I had never been referred to one by any of my doctors.  Early in August when I had a visit with my PA it was suggested, just so I can have a base line for where I am at this time. 

Before leaving, Little Wonder and I went out for awhile and he was slammed with the sunshine.

I headed in to the Professional building at Unity and had one of the best conversations ever....with the Doctor.

 She spent an hour with me and I learned a lot as she clearly explained so much about all the things in my file from other Doctors.  I left with a very different state of mind.  And that's a positive.

Home for a couple of hours and then headed down to the library for bridge.  My partner and I tied for first place.  You just never know with duplicate.

On the way back to the farm I dropped off a print at one of the stores in Brockport called Bittersweet. One of my past students, who is currently in my class again....did this drawing several years ago and I wanted to give a print to the owner of this store.  The  person working there will give it to her in the morning.

It is a very unique place full of very different clothing.  I checked on several items but went home empty handed.  Ironically, the dressing room was full of paintings and drawings of the building.

Such a cool piece of architecture.

While I was gone, Gary was visited by a roofer who is going to give us an estimate tomorrow. He also had a long conversation with our granddaughter, which made him very happy.

Dinner was a sandwich and chips. I managed to make a delicious batch of chicken salad.

The humidity was terrible today.

Tornado Warning. Got to Hurry....

Crazy weather off and on.  Hopefully the power won't go off before I finish this post.

This is what it looked like this morning.  Little Wonder was not too excited about going outside.

We started off the day as usual....

and by 9:45 we were out in the Studio for class.

First they finished up their fish paintings and then

we did a little wet on wet painting....a simple land or seascape.   (At this point, I am trying to get them to be very loose...letting the colors just run into each other). This time they had to do a simple drawing of the sunflowers or zinnias.  They had to let them dry before putting on the next layer

so we went on to the third project. This time they had to do a simple drawing of the sunflowers or zinnias on tracing paper.

Once that was done, they were transferred to watercolor paper and they will start painting them next class.

Anita was in my prior workshops and is doing projects of her choice.  She is into painting street scenes from Brockport and is now working on a log home.

Little Wonder could not get enough of his new best buddy.

Gary trimmed up the willow tree this afternoon while I made a quick trip to Wegmans.

We discovered that our raspberries are finally coming in strong.

He had a 5pm appointment in the village and on the way home, picked up dinner at Min Yangs.  We were going to go out, but I did not want to leave LW home alone in case the weather goes crazy.

I made sure he got outside before the heavy rain started.

I am getting warnings on my phone about every 10 minutes.  Currently it is about lightning.

It's now 7:15 and I need to get this posted

Night all.

 

Limbo

Not much activity today.  At least the sun came out....extremely muggy.  Two guys are coming for estimates on our roof in the next couple of days. Yay.....can't wait $$$$$$$.  Glad it's just the part over the kitchen.

This morning I made another big batch of bean salad.  Gary went to yoga and out to lunch with his pals.

Spent more time in the Studio working on examples for class tomorrow.

We will finish the fish paintings and then work on a simple landscape.  They need to get comfortable using more water and I don't want them to use brush strokes as if they were painting a house.

After that, we will work on simple drawings of the flowers I put out there.  First on tracing paper and then transferred to watercolor paper,

Gary finished the ceiling in the Studio and there were no bees in sight.  Then he cut a bunch of branches off the walnut tree.  After that he deserved a treat....

so we had dessert first.   It's a good thing that was a small nectarine pie.

Little Wonder and I did next to zero all afternoon.

Looks like we could have a beautiful sunset tonight, but I don't have the energy to get in the car and chase it.

Check out the siding Scott put up on the house.  I love it.  He has been working his butt off.  Outside on the sunny days and inside when it's raining.
