Inspired by the dark SAX-appeal of The Faceless, Rivers of Nihil, Fractal Universe, Kardashev, I've searched for Morphine's music here (see Elevators to the Grateful Sky) ➡️ found these amazing Italian stalli..., i mean metallians, who split unfortunately ➡️ looked for new projects and found that Giorgio is in Shrieking Demons now. Italian Death Metal. This is a very nice album with some nice ideas which, though not totally new, are very well done. Plus there are some fantastically technical parts as well! Shrieking Demons play death metal in the classic style with emphasis on riffs, delivery, and feeling rather than just crazed speed and technicality. Even though influenced by legends such as Autopsy, Death, Possessed and others, it's ironically refreshing to listen to music played with such fervour and devotion which adds new life to it. It takes you back to the time when you first came across death metal music, especially the filthy kind, and went through a whole range of emotions and gesticulations. Shrieking Demons evoke similar feelings which is only possible because of the passion with which they've pieced this together, taking the best elements of what made those albums unforgettable and giving it their own treatment. The fact that the members have a fair bit of experience playing this kind of music only adds credibility, with them being in bands like Assumption and also other filthy bands in the past such as Haemophagus, Morbo, Undead Creep and Gravesite. Shrieking Demons is the culmination of their experience where this kind of death metal music goes, creating the best possible expression without making any compromises anywhere, and keeping it rich and nuanced enough to elevate it above all else.
