Ingalls is a city in Gray County, Kansas, United States. In 2020, 252 people lived there.[3]
History
[change | change source]The first post office in Ingalls was created in May 1887 with the name Soule. It kept that name until May 1888.[4] The city was renamed for Kansas senator John James Ingalls.[5]
Ingalls could have been the county seat in the late 1880s. It once had the county offices.[6]

[change | change source]The 2020 census says that there were 252 people, 97 households, and 71 families living in Ingalls. Of the households, 71.1% owned their home and 28.9% rented their home.
The median age was 32.6 years. Of the people, 78.2% were White, 1.6% were Black, 0.8% were Asian, 0.4% were Native American, 10.7% were from some other race, and 8.3% were two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 30.2% of the people.[3][8]

Education
[change | change source]Ingalls is served by USD 477 Ingalls. The Ingalls High School mascot is the Bulldogs.[10]
