Other engines based on the Renault engine

[change | change source]

Mecachrome was an engineering company. Starting in 1983 they helped Renault build the  turbocharged engines supplied to other race teams. Starting in 1992 they help Renault build the V10 engines to supply the Ligier team. This changed to Benetton and Williams in 1995. After 1997, Renault sold its engine to Mecachrome.[2]

Mecachrome signed a contract in May 1998 with Super Performance Competition Engineering. They would supply engines and call them Supertec engines.[2]
