HEAVY HALO are a self-proclaimed goth-rock duo and also hailing from NYC. They have an album entitled "Damaged Dream" coming out in 2025 on SILENT PENDULUM RECORDS. The band consists of Mike McKeever (vocals/guitar) and John Bourke (keys.) REVOLVER MAGAZINE recently premiered their latest single, "Damage Me." Mike had the following to share regarding this new collaboration:
"When Chris came to us with this darkly poignant song about someone you love spiraling out of control in ritualistic self-sabotage, we knew we wanted to work with him on it. So we took his raw human core and grafted it to an electronic exoskeleton, trying to convey how it feels to be trapped in your own private psychic dystopia…"
Additionally, Chris had the following to add:
"This song is about how things like religion and family can interfere with someone's ability to be who they want to be. Because the lyrics touch upon dark experiences, naturally I wanted the music to match. I tend to write music that fits more in the post-hardcore vein and was unable to capture the darkness that I wanted on a sonic level. That’s when I reached out to Heavy Halo about collaborating. In NYC, they are absolutely my favorite band playing goth, industrial and new wave with a fresh take on these genres. What they brought to the mix exceeded what I could have even imagined."
Kick-ass killer garage psych, this album's been drowned in the very same muck it ends up raking a few tracks in. The title track, if I'm not mistaken, was recorded through multiple phone microphones. And that's just fuckin sick, dude. This album's just fuckin sick yeah Alexia V.V.
