SONS OF KEN are back with a new remix collection: BRO•KEN BEATS.

The album features 11 reimaginations of well-loved Kens favourites. Highlights include a dramatic rethink of the band’s very first single WORK ALL NITE from superstar producer Paul ‘Groucho’ Smykle (known for his work with artists ranging from Sly and Robbie to Mick Jagger) and a radical take on the Kens’ most recent recording, WISHIN’ ON U, courtesy of legendary breaks pioneer Rennie Pilgrem.

But BRO•KEN BEATS doesn’t stop there. Elsewhere on the album you can also find insanely exciting mixes from friendly rivals Mothloop, who turn in a brass-enhanced revamp of WHAT’S HE DOING IN THERE, a dubbed-up palimpsest of early Kens B-side LET’S GO HOME from vintage audio gear wizard iceni.X, while the band’s first radio champion D’Francisco provides one of the three versions of MURDERBEAT giving it a brand-new breaks-driven groove.

Taking the Kens’ Electro sound into new, Trance and Techno-flavoured territory, Hooj Choons up-and-comer Snubbelrisk also completely reinvents MURDERBEAT, turning it into an epic soundscape that propels the listener – and the band – into a whole new world.

Unable to resist the temptation to get in on the action themselves, both Kens turn in their own individual remixes [SHA-BOOP and DON’T GO TO THE DISCO] as well as joining together to bring a fresh new sound to FOOLS GOLD, their collaboration with Shakespear’s Sister star Marcella Detroit.

Rounding out the collection is yet another version of danceflooor banger MURDERBEAT, lending the collection an almost concept-album symmetry.
