The SOS lab is found in October 2018 by the Principle Investigator, Mingxi Zhou.
We are located at beautiful Narragansett Bay Campus, University of Rhode Island.
The main research themes of the lab are:
- Vehicle autonomy and decision making
- Multi-vehicle collaboration
- Accessible unmanned platform and system development
Students are the core of this lab and student success is the top priority of the lab. To this end, we provide
1) state-of-the-art facilities (instruments, platforms, and software architecture);
2) training on real-world field robotics and interdisciplinary skills (mechanical, software, electronics, and arts);
3) Competitive support to cover stipend and tuition.
We stride to make our development accessible for the research community. Our software are available through out GitHub(GSO-soslab), and we are part of the URI Ocean Robotics Group (GitHub).
