I explored how to create a piece that works seamlessly both forward and backward, not only in terms of notes but also textures and timbre. My process started by selecting sounds that could easily be flipped and still function normally in reverse. I used synths with identical attack and release times, ensuring that they would perform consistently whether played forwards or backwards. Additionally, I recorded some sounds, reversed them, and blended them with the originals to create unique textures that work in either direction. For the composition itself, I opted for an intensity pyramid, building up and then coming down, which felt like a natural way to unify the forward and backward elements and keep everything cohesive. This piece has a slightly experimental feel since the entire project was a huge experiment for me. It was a tougher challenge than expected, but I learned many new techniques I hadn’t considered or thought of. Genre Electronic Comment by BYND_CTRL cool 2024-10-20T17:56:24Z
