I'm a HW Support and used cacti, zabbix, but they are too "strong", sometimes I just want to know server "worked fine", and show me a basicly load-average chart, that's enough. And the other hand, I need run command (like: "top", "iostat", "date" etc.) remotely and show it out to the webpage. The hwmonitor(writen in C) is a simple daemon, you can define some command-name(like: show_top= top -b -n1), telnet to this daemon and input your def-command(like: show_top), hwmonitor will return the info. And hwclient(include in this project, writen in C) connect to hwmonitor, input a define command-name to get server load-average and IO-idle each 60 seconds(you can change it) into a text file. hwgraphic (include in this project, writen in PHP) read the text file(generated by hwclient) and show the load-average chart and IO-idle chart.

ipset_list is a wrapper script for listing sets of the netfilter ipset program. It allows you to match and display sets, headers, and elements in various ways. The result can be saved as shell script and in ipset save, or xml format.

multi-protocol, multi-host, graphical ping utility, used to ensure a set of hosts are up and running and providing the expected services. traditional ICMP echo along with status of http, smtp, pop, etc.

A php script which uses lldp information to traverse snmp servers in a network and produce a graphical map of different hosts and connections in the network. The graph is produced with the graphviz dot syntax and graphviz can be used to produce different file formats like .png or .eps. All connections to be identified must have snmp servers with lldp support at both ends. Most high end switches have built in support for snmp and lldp. Computer hosts need something like lldpd together with an snmp server.

Graphical frontend for netstat. Built as a tiny webserver which let you access netstat with a regular browser. The external IP Adresses will show up as links. The link will transfer you to a host lookup site and will know much more about the address.

tcptrace is a tool written by Shawn Ostermann at Ohio University, for analysis of TCP dump files. It can take as input the files produced by several popular packet-capture programs, including tcpdump, snoop, etherpeek, HP Net Metrix, and WinDump. tcptrace can produce several different types of output containing information on each connection seen, such as elapsed time, bytes and segments sent and recieved, retransmissions, round trip times, window advertisements, throughput, and more. It can also produce a number of graphs for further analysis.
