OS X FOSS portable applications are packaged so you can carry around on any portable device, USB thumb drive, iPod, portable hard drive, memory card, other portable device (or also on your internal hard disk), taking your preferences with you.

Since the governments of some countries are using the blocking the internet access to several websites and web service providers which includes some world famous sites like Google, YouTube, twitter, Facebook, and Wikipedia etc., we designed this tiny utility in order to help people getting through the Internet blockade. Hosts Setup Utility provides basic tools to manage the hosts file on current operating systems. It also provides both support for Graphical Desktop environment with Graphical User Interface (GUI) and CLI environment with Text-based User Interface (TUI). Users could use these tool to modify the hosts to visit specified websites or services blocked by ISP/government. Functions which help users to backup/restore hosts files are also provided. iSFV is an easy to use integrity checker for SFV files. Use it to test for corrupt files in packages that come with SFV files. You can also use it to edit or create your own SFV files.

For Safari 5.1 or greater on OS X 10.7 - 10.9 (I have received feedback this app does not effectively remove cookies etc in Yosemite. The underlying applescript can be updated to target newer locations in 10.10 by any adventurous folks out there, as described in the read me) This application provides options to clear cookies, cache, history, top sites, saved state, and "local storage" (Safari and Flash storage) automatically each time Safari quits. There is also an option to turn Safari's Private Browsing on automatically on launch. Just launch SafariCleaner and select the items you want to clear on quit, simple as that! Note: If you want to use the Private Browsing feature, you must go to System Preferences-->Universal Access and check "Enable access for assistive devices" I hope you'll find this app helpful. Lullaby is a little sleep timer that works with iTunes and Spotify. After a specified time, Lullaby will fade out your music, pause it, and then optionally put your Mac to sleep. Set it and forget it: Lullaby opens up as an application, and after you enter the sleep time, Lullaby runs quietly in the background while you go to sleep. If you end up feeling sleepless and want to keep working, just quit the application. Update changelog: 2012-06-14: Bug fixed where quitting the app would also put the computer to sleep immediately.

ReadItYourself! is a dead-simple AppleScript for NetNewsWire which exports unread news items of a selected subscription onto an iPod. It uses PHP for the conversion and it's simple nature makes it a nice AppleScript learning project.
