    Zenith

    Zenith

Sort of like top or htop but with zoom-able charts, CPU, GPU

In terminal graphical metrics for your *nix system written in Rust. The make file provides for building fully static versions on Linux against the musl C library. It requires musl-gcc to be installed on the system. Install "musl-tools" package on debian/ubuntu derivatives, "musl-gcc" on fedora and equivalent on other distributions from their standard repos. If one needs to build with NVIDIA support in a virtual environment, then it requires some more setup since typically the VM software is unable to directly expose NVIDIA GPU. Unlike the runtime zenith script, the Makefile has been setup to detect only the presence of required NVIDIA libraries, so it is possible to build with NVIDIA support even when without NVIDIA GPU.

    folium

    folium

    Python data, Leaflet.js maps

folium builds on the data wrangling strengths of the Python ecosystem and the mapping strengths of the leaflet.js library. Manipulate your data in Python, then visualize it in on a Leaflet map via folium. folium makes it easy to visualize data that’s been manipulated in Python on an interactive leaflet map. It enables both the binding of data to a map for choropleth visualizations as well as passing rich vector/raster/HTML visualizations as markers on the map. The library has a number of built-in tilesets from OpenStreetMap, Mapbox, and Stamen, and supports custom tilesets with Mapbox or Cloudmade API keys. folium supports both Image, Video, GeoJSON and TopoJSON overlays. To create a base map, simply pass your starting coordinates to Folium. To display it in a Jupyter notebook, simply ask for the object representation. The default tiles are set to OpenStreetMap, but Stamen Terrain, Stamen Toner, Mapbox Bright, and Mapbox Control Room, and many others tiles are built in.

    htop

    htop

    An interactive process viewer

htop is a cross-platform interactive process viewer. htop allows scrolling the list of processes vertically and horizontally to see their full command lines and related information like memory and CPU consumption. Also, system-wide information, like load average or swap usage, is shown. The information displayed is configurable through a graphical setup and can be sorted and filtered interactively. Tasks related to processes (e.g. killing and renicing) can be done without entering their PIDs. Running to requires ncurses libraries, typically named libncurses(w). Since version 2.0, htop is now cross-platform! Check out the video and slides of Hisham's presentation at FOSDEM 2016 about how this came to be. The current releases support Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, DragonFly BSD, MacOSX and Solaris. This is htop, a cross-platform interactive process viewer. It is a text-mode application (for console or X terminals) and requires ncurses.

Built on top of d3.js and stack.gl, Plotly.js is a high-level, declarative charting library. plotly.js ships with over 40 chart types, including 3D charts, statistical graphs, and SVG maps. plotly.js is free and open source and you can view the source, report issues or contribute on GitHub. For plotly.js to build with Webpack you will need to install ify-loader@v1.1.0+ and add it to your webpack.config.json. This adds Browserify transform compatibility to Webpack which is necessary for some plotly.js dependencies. Luscus is the program for graphical display and editing of molecular systems. The program allows fast and easy building and/or editing different molecular structures, up to several thousands of atoms large. Luscus can also visualize dipole moments, normal modes, molecular orbitals, electron densities and electrostatic potentials. In addition, simple geometrical objects can be rendered in order to point out a geometrical feature or a physical quantity. The program is developed as a graphical interface for MOLCAS program package, however it's adaptive nature makes possible using luscus with other computational program packages and chemical formats. DiffOpt.jl

    DiffOpt.jl

Differentiating convex optimization programs w.r.t. program parameters

DiffOpt.jl is a package for differentiating convex optimization programs (JuMP.jl or MathOptInterface.jl models) with respect to program parameters. Note that this package does not contain any solver. This package has two major backends, available via the reverse_differentiate! and forward_differentiate! methods, to differentiate models (quadratic or conic) with optimal solutions. Differentiable optimization is a promising field of convex optimization and has many potential applications in game theory, control theory and machine learning. Recent work has shown how to differentiate specific subclasses of convex optimization problems. But several applications remain unexplored. With the help of automatic differentiation, differentiable optimization can have a significant impact on creating end-to-end differentiable systems to model neural networks, stochastic processes, or a game.

    PySR

    PySR

High-Performance Symbolic Regression in Python and Julia

PySR is an open-source tool for Symbolic Regression: a machine learning task where the goal is to find an interpretable symbolic expression that optimizes some objective. Over a period of several years, PySR has been engineered from the ground up to be (1) as high-performance as possible, (2) as configurable as possible, and (3) easy to use. PySR is developed alongside the Julia library SymbolicRegression.jl, which forms the powerful search engine of PySR. The details of these algorithms are described in the PySR paper. Symbolic regression works best on low-dimensional datasets, but one can also extend these approaches to higher-dimensional spaces by using "Symbolic Distillation" of Neural Networks, as explained in 2006.11287, where we apply it to N-body problems. Here, one essentially uses symbolic regression to convert a neural net to an analytic equation. Thus, these tools simultaneously present an explicit and powerful way to interpret deep neural networks.

    Rawgraphs app

    Rawgraphs app

A web interface to create custom vector-based visualizations

Inspired by and built on top of open-source projects. RAWGraphs is open to the community for contributions. Almost 30 visual models to visualize quantities, hierarchies, and time series and find insights in your data. Even though RAWGraphs is a web app, the data you insert will be processed only by your web browser. Save your project, or export it as a vector or raster image. Edit it within your favorite software. RAWGraphs is an open source data visualization framework built with the goal of making the visual representation of complex data easy for everyone. Primarily conceived as a tool for designers and vis geeks, RAWGraphs aims at providing a missing link between spreadsheet applications (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers, OpenRefine) and vector graphics editors (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma). The project, led and maintained by the DensityDesign Research Lab (Politecnico di Milano) was released publicly in 2013.

    AlphaPlot

    AlphaPlot

Interactive scientific graphing and data analysis software.

Alpha Plot can generate different types of 2D and 3D plots (such as line, scatter, bar, pie, and surface plots) from data that is either imported from ASCII files, entered by hand, or calculated using formulas. The data is held in spreadsheets which are referred to as tables with column-based data (typically X and Y values for 2D plots) or matrices (for 3D plots). The spreadsheets as well as graphs and note windows are gathered in a project and can be organized using folders. The built-in analysis operations include column/row statistics, (de)convolution, FFT and FFT-based filters. Scripting Console support in-place evaluation of mathematical expressions and scrtipting interface to ECMAScript like dynamic scripting language(java script). The GUI of the application uses the Qt toolkit. Periodic test builds are available here http://alphaplot.sourceforge.net/test-build.html
