Open Source File Systems

The Sleuth Kit is a C++ library and collection of open source file system forensics tools that allow you to, among other things, view allocated and deleted data from NTFS, FAT, FFS, EXT2, Ext3, HFS+, and ISO9660 images.

Please note that OWFS source code, and all Issue/Tickets/merge requests have now been moved to https://github.com/owfs/owfs/. Developer mailing lists will still be kept at Sourceforge. ---- OWFS -- 1-Wire file system. Use the Dallas 1-Wire and iButton chips with standard filesystem commands. Create temperature loggers. Monitor everything. OWHTTPD -- same system, only used as a light weight web server. OWFS is also ported to embedded routers, Mac OSX and Windows. Basically you can use these inexpensive little sensors and other chips with very simple wiring to sense and control the physical environment. The interface is very flexible -- everything from a web browser, to read and writing directly to the chip's "file" to integrating with your programs -- even over the internet. There is a growing number of 1-wire sensors: temperature, voltage, humidity, light, ultraviolet, pressure, thermisters, thermocouples, programmable microcontrollers, relays, lights, LCD panels, etc

Wcd is another Norton Change Directory (NCD) clone. Wcd is a command-line program to change directory fast. It includes a full screen interactive directory tree browser with speed search and a fast way to choose between multiple matches.

The Compressed File System Sizing Tool scans a directory and outputs the size, the compressed size, and the type of each file in the tree. It helps a designer configure a filesystem for embedded Linux systems using xip cramfs or axfs.

A library and commands for cyclic logfiles. A cyclic log has a fixed size upon creation and pointers that refer to the start and end positions within that fixed size.They are useful for recording server output without losing the most recent data.

This is a simple bkp_client script for backuppc providing some API and plugin infrastructure for preparing clients to backup.

EFM is a simple console (VT100) file manager for embedded systems.

'finddouble' application searches into a directory and all its sub directories. If it finds several times the same file, a warning message is displayed, but no other action is taken. It's main use is to help you optimize you disk usage.
