Set in ancient Persia, it begins outside the castle of the young King Xerxes, who inherited a golden chalice from his father, Darius the Great. It was recently stolen by a surly foe named King Leonidas of Sparta. Your quest is to find and return the royal chalice to its pedestal within the castle of Xerxes. But, there will be obstacles to overcome. You must find the keys to various realms, defend yourself against dragons, avoid snakes and pesky bats who steal things only to drop them in random locations, and survive the maze. 3D slider puzzles for kids; helps teach solid geometry
Reliquarium is a unique set of four 3D geometric slider puzzles for kids, all with a Crystal Skull theme. It runs on Windows, GNU/Linux or Mac/OS-X. Reckless raiders have plundered a tomb and displaced an ancient relic. The objective is to return the relic to the center of its cubical box by rearranging the numbered blocks back into their proper order, which also represents a proper RGB coloring...Red in the X-direction, Green in the Y-direction, Blue in the Z-direction. Dragging the cursor rotates the cube for a better view angle. The mouse wheel zooms. Typing a number 1..8 selects a block to move, 0 selects the relic itself. This is NOT another Rubic's Cube. It's a much simpler slider puzzle that is incrementally solvable. A 3x3x3 arrangement of cubelets with the center one missing allows sliding permutations. After a randomization, the goal is to restore the cube to its original configuration based on color and alphabetic hints. Written in Ada and compiles on Windows, OS-X or GNU/Linux. Nice laptop controls and support for Mac Retina displays. Requires OpenGL v3.3, and on Macs a recent version of OS-X. Now with mouse wheel zoom (2-finger swipe on MacBooks). 3D OpenGL dungeon game using Ada: a tribute to Narbacular Drop
AdaGate is a kid-friendly 3D sokoban puzzle game within a Stargate / Portal fantasy setting. It is a great example of modern OpenGL programming using the Ada programming language. It runs on Windows, OSX, or Linux. While searching a remote south-seas atoll for remnants of a lost American heroine, a stargate kawoosh lures you into 4 strange dungeons. Escape will require the logical rearrangement of weird power cells [ZPMs] that roll in only two directions. Shoot your portal guns at the dungeon walls to configure 2 escape portals, but in order to activate them, all of the ZPMs must be bumped onto their sockets. But beware: you can only PUSH the ZPMs, so you will fail if you roll one into a corner or against a wall. RufaSlider is a collection of 16 different block slider puzzles for kids and casual puzzlers that works on laptops and PCs running Windows, OSX or GNU/Linux. It includes a Klotski-style family, a DirtyDozen family, and a Traffic-Rush family. And now these puzzle families come with AutoSolvers to help you. The Klotski family uses rectangles of 4 sizes: 1x1, 2x2, 1x2, 2x1. The objective in each game is stated near the window top, but usually involves moving a large block to a specified location within the window. The DirtyDozen family is similar except there are L-shaped puzzle pieces. The Traffic-Rush family uses data, with 2x1, 1x2, 3x1, 1x3 rectangles. Here, the long rectangles represent cars or trucks that can only move [roll] lengthwise...the goal being to move the red car toward the shaded "exit door". This is a soccer-themed, 3rd-person 3D sokoban puzzle game. It uses data in a format that is commonly found on the internet. It has undo <u> and restart <r> functions. Comes with many puzzle files, each typically having dozens of "levels". The next <n> and previous <p> keys move between levels. The <Lshft> and <Rshft> keys move between the different puzzle files. The <z> key creates a setpoint (reZero) so that subsequent restarts restore that setpoint. To move the "kicker" use the arrow keys. The objective is to kick all the red and blue balls into the goal nets. Notice that these strange soccer balls roll in two perpendicular directions only! Now with a user adjustable viewpoint!
