This is a port of Facebook's hg absorb. Facebook demoed hg absorb which is probably the coolest workflow enhancement I've seen to version control in years. Essentially, when your working directory has uncommitted changes on top of draft changesets, you can run hg absorb and the uncommitted modifications are automagically folded ("absorbed") into the appropriate draft ancestor changesets. This is essentially doing hg histedit + "roll" actions without having to make a commit or manually make history modification rules. The command essentially looks at the lines that were modified, finds a changeset modifying those lines, and amends that changeset to include your uncommitted changes. If the changes can't be made without conflicts, they remain uncommitted. This workflow is insanely useful for things like applying review feedback. You just make file changes, run hg absorb and the mapping of changes to commits sorts itself out. It is magical.

A JupyterLab extension for version control using Git. To see the extension in action, open the example notebook included in the Binder demo. Open the Git extension from the Git tab on the left panel. This extension tries to handle credentials for HTTP(S) connections (if you don't have set up a credential manager). But not for other SSH connections. The extension can cache temporarily (by default for an hour) credentials. To use the caching, you will need to check the option Save my login temporarily in the dialog asking your credentials. Once installed, extension behavior can be modified via the following settings which can be set in JupyterLab's advanced settings editor. Set post git init actions. It is possible to provide a list of commands to be executed in a folder after it is initialized as Git repository. Set path patterns to exclude from this extension. You can use wildcard and interrogation mark for respectively everything or any single character in the pattern.

Creates a commit heatmap across several Git and Mercurial repositories. Scans a list of paths recursively for Mercurial and Git repositories and creates a commit heat map for a specific year. Optionally reports a combined heat map for all found repositories, or a separate heat map for each repository. Comes with options to filter for specific authors or apply an authormap file to combine different authors into one heat map.

GitList allows you to browse repositories using your favorite browser, viewing files under different revisions, commit history and diffs. GitList is free and open-source software, written in PHP, on top of Silex and the Twig template engine. GitList is actively maintained by many developers around the world. You can fork the project on GitHub and start contributing yourself. The project is continuously integrated, so we can improve code quality and build effortlessly. GitList is an elegant and modern web interface for interacting with multiple git repositories. It allows you to browse repositories using your favorite browser, viewing files under different revisions, commit history, diffs. It also generates RSS/Atom feeds for each repository, allowing you to stay up-to-date with the latest changes anytime, anywhere. GitList was written in PHP, on top of the Symfony framework, and powered by the Twig template engine.

This prompt is a port of the "Informative git prompt for zsh". A bash prompt that displays information about the current git repository. In particular the branch name, difference with remote branch, number of files staged, changed, etc. The advantage of this approach is, that you only need to specify the parts, that are different to the Default theme. You can set the GIT_PROMPT_SHOW_UNTRACKED_FILES variable to no or normal to speed things up if you have lots of untracked files in your repository. This can be the case for build systems that put their build artifacts in the subdirectory structure of the git repository. Setting it to all will count all untracked files, including files listed in .gitignore. The most settings are now stored in theme files. To select a theme, set the variable GIT_PROMPT_THEME to the name of the theme located in <INSTALLDIR>/themes without the extension .bgptheme.

Legit is a complementary command-line interface for Git, optimized for workflow simplicity. It is heavily inspired by GitHub for Mac. We haven't re-created the git CLI tool in a GUI, we've created something different. We've created a tool that makes Git more accessible. Little things like auto-stashing when you switch branches will confuse git veterans, but it will make Git much easier to grok for newcomers because of the assumptions it makes about your Git workflow. Switches to specified branch. Defaults to the current branch. Automatically stashes and unstashes any changes. Synchronizes the given branch. Defaults to current branch. Stash, Fetch, Auto-Merge/Rebase, Push, and Unstash.

gitin is a minimalist tool that lets you explore a git repository from the command line. You can search from commits, inspect individual files and changes in the commits. It is an alternative and interactive way to explore the commit history. Also, you can explore your current state by investigating diffs, stage your changes and commit them. Fuzzy search (type / to start a search after running gitin command. Interactive stage and see the diff of files (gitin status then press enter to see diff or space to stage). Commit/amend changes (gitin status then press c to commit or m to amend). Interactive hunk staging (gitin status then press p). Explore branches with useful filter options (e.g. gitin branch press enter to checkout). Convenient UX and minimalist design. See more options by running gitin --help, also you can get help for individual subcommand. Linux and macOS are supported, Windows is not at the moment.
