itom - an Open Source Measurement, Automation and Evaluation Software
itom is an open source software suite for operating measurement systems, laboratory automation and data evaluation. One main application of itom is the development and operation of sensor and measurement system for instance in a laboratory environment. Therefore, the software has to be able to communicate with a wide range of different hardware systems, such as cameras or actuators and should provide a diversified and as complete as possible set of evaluation and data processing methods. Additionally, the rapid prototyping of modern measurement and inspection setups requires a system, where parameters or components can easily be changed at runtime, necessitating the availability of an embedded scripting language. Finally, when operating a measurement system, it is also desirable to extend the graphical user interface by system adapted dialogs and windows. Gourmet Recipe Manager is now housed at http://thinkle.github.io/gourmet/ Gourmet is a recipe-organizer for GNOME that generates shopping lists and allows rapid searching and entry of recipes. It imports mealmaster & mastercook files, as well as providing tools to help users import from text files or webpages. Gourmet can exports webpages & other formats. Gourmet has a plugin infrastructure allowing users to choose add-ins they want, such as a plugin to calculate nutritional information. Gourmet also includes an interactive python shell plugin which is a great way for new developers to get started playing around. Gourmet is now built on Python, SqlObject, and GTK tools. Among the plugins is an experimental web front-end which shows the way forward to other possible future front-ends. -

Debox was made with the middle and novice user in mind. Includes a wide range of software: word processor, media players, internet browser, email client, disk utilities, java and few games. Also, a plenty of printers, scanners, bluethooth, web cams, digital tv, fax are supported by default. Different from the majority of the distributions, the Debox desktop environment does not tightly integrate every component but use various programs and tweaks that give the final result. Debox Live CD is full persistence capable so you can store your favorite data on hard disk/USB stick.
