LAME is an educational tool to be used for learning about MP3 encoding. The goal of the LAME project is to improve the psycho acoustics, quality and speed of MP3 encoding. Note: we provide source code only!

cdrtfe is a CD/DVD/BD burning application for Microsoft Windows. You can burn data discs, Audio CDs, XCDs, (S)VCDs and DVD-Video discs. It supports creation and writing of ISO images and bootable discs. cdrtfe has a multi-language interface and is also available as portable version.

FLAC Frontend is a convenient way for Windows users not used to working with command lines to use the official FLAC tools. It accepts WAVE, W64, AIFF and RAW files for encoding and outputs FLAC or OGG-FLAC files. It is able to decode FLAC files, test them, fingerprint them and re-encode them. It has drag-and-drop support too.

iTunes Store file validator is an open source addon for Windows. It is aimed for iTunes users who are keen on maintaining or having the goal of achieving iTunes Store file standard tags for all the tracks in their iTunes Music Library.

The BackupTool was developed using Qt/C++ and the libraries QuaZip and zLib. It is a tool to help the backup control. The user can backup files and folders in .zip or .iso file. The backup contains date and time of its creation and the user can also write a description that will be saved inside the backup file. The software also offers a recovery tool from an existing backup (for .zip files) and the possibility of burning CD/DVD in case of .iso files. The version used in the project was: QuaZip 0.7.2 and zLib 1.2.8.

Channel Code Copy of Compact Discs: This project has the goal to archive the complete content of CDs on the channel code layer. Here, the NRZI signal which stems from the laser-pickup of a CD player is recorded directly, providing sort of a pit-land photo of the CD. The resulting image file, in turn, is demodulated and decoded in software, i.e. within a virtual CD player. The digital audio channel code on LaserDiscs and CD Video discs can be handled as well.
