ESP32-Paxcounter
Wifi & BLE driven passenger flow metering with cheap ESP32 boards
Wifi & Bluetooth driven, LoRaWAN enabled, battery-powered mini Paxcounter built on cheap ESP32 LoRa IoT boards. Paxcounter is an ESP32 MCU-based device for metering passenger flows in real time. It counts how many mobile devices are around. This gives an estimation of how many people are around. Paxcounter detects Wifi and Bluetooth signals in the air, focusing on mobile devices by evaluating their MAC addresses. The intention of this project is to do this without intrusion in privacy: You don't need to track people-owned devices if you just want to count them. Therefore, Paxcounter does not persistently store MAC addresses and does no kind of fingerprinting the scanned devices. Data can either be stored on a local SD-card, transferred to the cloud using LoRaWAN network or MQTT over TCP/IP, or transmitted to localhost using serial (SPI) interface. LED Matrix display (similar to this 64x16 model, can be ordered on Aliexpress). SD-card (see section SD-card here) for logging pax data. -

On Ubuntu, pip will install to the current user's home directory rather than system-wide. Because of this, when installing pip on Ubuntu you will need to run pip install with the --system flag as well (on other platforms this is not needed). By only tracking pure configuration files, it keeps the crap out of your freshly new installed workstation (no cache, temporary and locally specific files are transfered). Configurable output formats, HTML or colored command line output. Ability to dump internal references, either soft ones (objects or resources) or hard ones (=& on arrays or objects properties). Repeated occurrences of the same object/array/resource won’t appear again and again anymore. Moreover, you’ll be able to inspect the reference structure of your data. Monitor everything. OWHTTPD -- same system, only used as a light weight web server. OWFS is also ported to embedded routers, Mac OSX and Windows. Basically you can use these inexpensive little sensors and other chips with very simple wiring to sense and control the physical environment. TCN (Train Communication Network) is a series of international standards (IEC61375) developed by Working Group 43 of the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), specifying a communication system for the data communication within and between vehicles of a train. PJON is an experimental network protocol stack crafted in 10 years of research and experimentation. PJON has been engineered to have a variable footprint (4.2-8.2 kB program memory) and overhead (5-35 bytes per packet) depending on its configuration.
