MPV Bug Report: Tone-Mapping and Color Fidelity Regression on Resume and Fullscreen (D3D11) Summary: When using vo=gpu-next with gpu-api=d3d11, MPV renders HDR → SDR tone-mapping correctly when paused, but color fidelity collapses during playback and fullscreen. The issue appears to be triggered by UI redraws, mouse movement, or resuming playback. System Info: MPV Build: Latest Shinchiro 64bit-v3 (tested across multiple versions) OS: Windows 10/11 (tested on both) GPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600 iGPU (RDNA2) Display: SDR monitor, peak brightness ~300 nits Driver: AMD Adrenalin WHQL (latest stable) Conf: vo=gpu-next gpu-api=d3d11 gpu-context=d3d11 d3d11-output-format=rgba10 gpu-hdr-compute=yes tone-mapping=hable target-peak=300 video-output-levels=full target-trc=bt.1886 target-colorspace=bt.709 icc-profile-auto=no background-color=black Observed Behavior: Paused frame renders correctly with full tone-mapping Mouse hover or resume triggers color loss Fullscreen causes complete tone-mapping failure Subtitle styling also breaks intermittently when OSD is triggered Expected Behavior: Tone-mapping and color fidelity should remain consistent across pause, resume, and fullscreen UI redraws should not interrupt shader pipeline or output format Additional Notes: Issue persists even with interpolation=no, pause-display=yes, and cursor-autohide=always Switching to gpu-api=auto or opengl improves behavior but sacrifices D3D11 precision Appears to be a regression in how vo=gpu-next handles frame redraws and overlays under D3D11

This is a software that requires extensive knowledge about how it works, it is not recommended for those who do not have the patience to learn, this software does not promise that its use is simple, so I see no reason to give low scores for this, and I also see no reason to give low scores for not working on very old OS, update your system or limit yourself to older versions of MPV.

I wish I could leave zero stars, but I can't. This app is trash, settings are very minimal. For example, there's no way to make it so the app displays English subtitles by default when available. Even if this is a feature, the UI is so bad that it's hard to understand how to find the settings. The installer is very broken and not easy to use or understand. It has a timer and if you don't press a recognized key it closes the installer.

Sorry to ask, but is it possible to release a 0.40.0?
