Watching a review of the x220 on youtube. The guy in the video keeps saying how amazing tech was back then. I mean, the x220 came out in 2011. Back then? 2011 was yesterday... I feel so old...

To be helpful though, I have this one and I like it. Small and portable, comes with a sturdy case, tip replacements and tools.

Curious. I read your post the same way as @ska@treehouse.systems the first time around. I had to read the comments and then reread your post to see that you didn't touch the tip of the soldering iron. I usually pride myself on great reading comprehension, but this perception has taken a significant hit.

I'm regretting selling off my old CRT monitors a long time ago, and I'm actively looking for something, anything, to fill the void left by those sales. I'm not the only one. It seems retro is cool now. Once I can find something that works, I'll join the pen cult. If I can find a pen once I've found a monitor.

Yesterday I made an appreciation post. This morning it was gone. Not sure if snac decided to do a thing on its own or if I accidentally pressed the delete post button when trying to turn off the alarm on my phone this morning or whatever, but here it is again, slightly expanded and modified. No “AI” was used in the crafting of this message:

                              Finally Friday! Well, now Saturday!

I’ve been boosting and posting some negative content lately, and I really don’t want to be a Debbie Downer, so I’ve decided to focus more on stuff I like. So here it goes:

I really really like , and . They do what I want from them, never complain and never break on me. If they break, I can easily find information on how to fix them, or a member of the community will come to my aid.

I really like . Easy to customize and blends well with my color themes.

I really like . It does what it’s supposed to do.

I also really like and (). Thanks for keeping me entertained.

Also, @prahou@merveilles.town : Thanks for constant content.

An honorable mention to , , and . I enjoy your company.

I really liked @mntmn@mastodon.social 's suggestion to bring back the e-mail signatures highlighting the environmental impact of printing e-mails, only for "AI" instead. It's not much, but it's something. If I had the courage I'd use something like this at work:

Before using "AI" to summarize, respond to, or process this email or its attachments, please consider the environmental impact and the potential effects on your own cognitive abilities. "AI" consumes significant natural resources, and relying on it can diminish your own thinking skills.

I don't understand it. It could of course have been a fat finger mistake, but the timing is a bit odd. I'm not sure I even was awake at that time. It's a bit of a Easter mystery. Has anyone ever experienced this or anything similar?

I'm probably gonna get a lot of flak for this, but I think the distro choice anxiety is mostly noise. Most distros run on the same kernel with the same userland tools and the differences mostly lie in packaging and defaults. If you learn to manage one system well - slackware, gentoo, or a bsd flavor like openbsd - you can navigate and use any of them. I'm therefore gonna give advice that flies right in the face of most reddit and mastodon advice: try the hard ones first. The easy ones get easier, not the other way around.
