Wow, that is terrifying. Basically, through #wifi, we have surrendered any semblance of #privacy whatsoever.

While there are valid use cases for this, it's basically unrestricted at this point. What law enforcement and first responders can use in case of legitimate threats, so can criminals for nefarious behavior.

There are a plethora of #ethical red flags here as #legislation usually trails behind new #tech by years if not decades.

This needs to concern #everyone.

Mikrotik basics is easier than I thought to be honest

Starting from the default config the router was easy to setup. Using the same LAN Ip ranges and static assignments...

Next the AP, enabling a wifi config in the router and provisioning setup / enabling CAPsMAN and resetting the AP to caps mode

Isso pelo menos serviu para me lembrar: solicito sugestões/recomendações de adaptadores USB para #WiFi e #Bluetooth compatíveis com #LinuxLibre que sejam viáveis de comprar no próprio Brasil (preferencialmente) ou encomendar do oriente.

Então, #Xiaomi AX3000T foi bem recomendado por camaradas da sala de Usuários do https://conversations.im/j/usuarios-gnu@salas.suchat.org com a ressalva de que #OpenWrt não é totalmente livre por usar o kernel #Linux padrão, com firmware obscuro, justamente o que faz funcionarem dispositivos recentes como esse. Há um outro roteador mais recomendável ainda, TP-Link TL-WR841N TL-WR842ND (V3), por suportar #LibreCMC — totalmente livre — embora seja do padrão Wi-Fi 4 (IEEE 802.11n). Cheguei a tentar pesquisar outros, mas parecem bem mais difíceis de encontrar no Brasil e/ ou por preços viáveis.

🛜 O provedor liberou o MAC do AX3000T hoje cedo, então, após algumas horas em pleno funcionamento, já afirmo que a rede ficou anos-luz melhor!

Mesmo sem contar a libertação ocasionada pelo sistema operacional instalado, ainda que ambos funcionem no padrão Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11ax), considero que foi um tremendo desperdício ter ficado dois anos usando o Huawei AX2 totalmente privativo fornecido pela operadora.
