Ran across this article on Hacker News. It's got a few months under its belt, but it surprised me #Mastodon didn't warrant a mention. I'm a huge fan of #RSS, and get most of my news that way, but it's also a Mastodon feature. I don't always "follow" Mastodon accounts from Mastodon. Sometimes I follow them through RSS. Every Mastodon profile has at least 2 RSS feeds, and they can make following some profiles incredibly handy. Social media and RSS isn't mutually exclusive.

Ok so. Been using #RSS readers for a long time. Mostly #Thunderbird and some #FOSS Android apps.
Annoying to me has always been that the two don't talk to each other, and some QoL features missing. So now I am exploring #NewsBlur and #InoReader after reading that Pluralistic article. So far so good.
WHICH IS YOUR RSS READER OF CHOICE? Must work on Android & sync to an interface I can access through a browser.

Many moons ago, I used #RSS feed readers to read blogs. A recent post by @pluralistic has pointed out that this technology is not gone, and we can use it to make the experience of the Internet, to borrow Cory's word, bearable.

Cara, como é bom receber os posts por RSS diretamente no Kindle! Esta é uma opção de um plugin nativo do KoReader, mas estava com um bug que causava um "crash" no sistema no meio da atualização dos feeds. Parece que está normal agora.
Deixo nele os blogs que já conheço, mas assino também o "Discovery feed" do BearBlog somente dos blogs em português. A quem interessar:

Não sabia que o Thunderbird também era leitor de feeds; para Android, testei o Feeder e gostei (devo abandonar o NewsBlur).

This is my personal RSS reader (running locally only), opened as a FLOSS project. There's a lot that I plan to add to it, but I don't have so much time for now. However, it might be interesting to some folks, at least for learning purposes. So, here it goes.

Podcast Index sequer reconhece o conteúdo.
- Podcast Feed do canal
@podtest@fediverse.tv é devidamente reconhecido em todos os testes. Inclusive, perfeitamente incluído no Podcast Index. O problema é que, embora o episódio tenha sido criado com base no envio de um arquivo áudio (Ogg/Opus), o PeerTube fez, obrigatoriamente, sua conversão para vídeo. Torna-se videocast, então. É possível usá-lo assim mesmo, porém não fica exatamente como alguém esperaria um podcast de áudio.
- Feed da comunidade
@podtest@forum.ayom.media é reconhecido por agregadores. O grande porém é que o Lemmy não permite envio de arquivo de áudio, apenas imagem. Fiz o teste simplesmente inserindo a URL do áudio que eu já tinha enviado para outro servidor, com o discurso completo da Promulgação da Constituição por Ulysses Guimarães. Funcionou assim, mas fica inviável.
De imediato, ainda pode ser menos frustrante hospedar podcast em um sistema já preparado para isso, como 🐳 Funkwhale ou CastoPod.
⚠️ Só pra não perder o costume de avisar: não façam isso em plataformas privativas de liberdade e/ou candidatas a Big Tech, por favor. 🫸
