1d6 Random Recoverable Android and A.I. Treasure Finds Table For For Your Old School Post Apocalyptic Campaigns

Adventurers sometimes find incredible relics and remains that get left behind when the Artificial Intelligence lifeforms abandon some  of  their creations and other weird cybernetic life forms out in the wastelands. Many of these creatures are dangerous and yet can yield valuable artifacts.

When adventurers stumble upon such alien artifacts their might be a wisdom or tech use skill check required. These finds can and do yield valuable and sometimes incredibly dangerous finds. Here's a list of some of the more esoteric and odd finds that adventurers can come across in the wastelands. Caution should be used when approaching any of these types of relics.

1d6 Random Recoverable  Android
& A.I. Treasure Finds Table

  1. A carbonite android skull with the advanced optics intact inside the thing with its valuable silver housings. Worth about six hundred gold pieces but the thing has a radioactive battery which as a 40% chance of leaking when found presenting a dangerous radiation hazard. 1d6 points of flesh decaying weird radiation if leaking.
  2. A new flesh organ pod found in part of a robotic chest cavity, the organ is capable of regenerating nanite technological repairs capable of remaking or repairing any bread box sized item placed within it. The thing however will strip the flesh from a limb for 1d8 points of damage if placed inside the rubbery like organ. Its worth 10,000 gold pieces to a collector or wizard.
  3. A robotic birthing unit capable of creating an embryonic android of an appropriate type to the ruins its found in such as a soldier unit found in a military base or an engineering unit found in the ruins of an M.I.T. satellite facility. The thing is also capable of slipping in an assassin counter security demonic life essence into a living person, the thing will take over and reprogram a human mind in 1d6 hours. The person infected must save vs death or become the unwilling pawn of such a life form. Worth 40,000 gold pieces to the right collector or cult.
  4. Deep Slumber robotic mind, this is a subsidiary mind for an A.I. that can act as back up or lesser mind units for the massive god like intelligences that run the deep other dimensional gate ways. These units are capable of copying a dead person's mind in a very limited way giving a form of artificial resurrection for a 2 year limited basis. These units are worth 60,000 gold pieces but the least little damage will cause them to rapidly decay. The unit can only be placed in the ear canals of the recently deceased who can't be dead for more then four hours. These resurrections are not perfect copies and some emotional or mental trauma may result without the use of a wizard specializing deep cybernetic life forms. There is a 30% chance of a demonic corruption of such a unit as well.
  5. Helix robotic life essence unit, these organs are found in heavily created and armored robotic units and they are used for the collecting, dissembling and cataloging of mutant stock life forms out in the waste lands. They are very dangerous for the in hands of the right wizard they can be used to combined two or more mutant life forms into a totally new artificial or androidic life form. They do this by taking two genetic samples from mutant life forms and then forming a nanite cocoon which gives birth to a brand new monstrous artificial mutant life form. The possibilities of these horrors are endless and many cryptic cults seek such robotic units out to destroy and collect these organs. Such units are almost always heavily armed and very dangerous in their own right. These organs are worth between 30,000 to 80,000 gold to the right collector who might try to murder the party or adventurer anyway.
  6. An extra dimensional prism crystal this device is only found on certain sentient android life forms and the crystal is capable of detecting tears, rips, warps, and folds in space. The crystal can take a snap shot of such places or gateways for the creation of between 1d10 gateways of their own creation. These devices allow psychic mutants or wizards to travel between the folds in space time and to move side ways between dimensional planes.  These rare items are worth 60,000 gold pieces but if the crystal matrix is handled roughly there is a 40% chance of a small dimensional explosion that will suck the adventurer into an alternative universe from the mishandling.

1d6 Random Recoverable Cybernetic Relics & Systems Table For Your Old School Post Apocalyptic Campaigns

When adventurers stumble upon the remains of an android, robot, or other mechanical or cybernetic life form they never know if the corpse of such an entity might have some ancient rare and valuable computer or electronic systems. Some of these items can be quite valuable to the right collector of the robotic or other  cybernetic instruments. However does your group have any way of knowing if the latest 'artificial life form find' is valuable or scrap metal? Here is a random  D6 table to help out.

1d6 Random Recoverable Cybernetic Relics
& Systems  Table
  1. There is an artificial power source of a nuclear pellet that will last for 120 years. These systems are worth a cool 300 gold pieces. But men will murder your PC's for it because of the semi precious metals uses in its construction.
  2. The coloured bands represent newer quantum phase couplets of an extreme variety. If they are added to a cybernetic systems they add +3 on all Dexterity checks for the cyborg. They are worth 1d200 gold pieces because of beauty and rarity.

A wide spectrum cybernetic system sensor, this sensor is worth its wait in gold because it is capable of dipping a nearby  flipper dimension and will pick up any and all supernatural entities within a 40 yard radius. The sensor however hasn't any protections from such entities. Worth about 10,0000 gold pieces because of the extreme natural of the system and what it brings to the table.
  4. A weapon cybernetic hand recovered from several owners. The piece is able to slip poisons and a mini laser that adds in a +2 on all to hit checks. The thing also has a poison reserve and needles that will slip into position. Its worth 600 gold pieces but damned is the person who advertises this ancient collector's item.
  5. A cybernetic coin that is able track the cybernetic sickness and state of mind of its owner. The thing is able to pick up the alpha waves from nearby telepathic or pychic winds as it takes its hyper sensitive abilities and can track down ANY telepathic or esper within a 60 foot radius. The system is worth a cool 1,000 gold pieces.
  6. An artificial spine, this piece of hardware augments the existing frame work and nervous system of its owner. The system adds a +2 on all initiative based rolls as the system works on the owner's spine and becomes a semi living bio organic organ. The thing will give its owner vivid hallucinations and there is a 30% chance of the owner being sensitive to danger and violence as it manifests on the psychic wind. Its worth 10,000 gold pieces because of its rarity and weird powers.

1d6 Random Weird Automatons Encounter Table For Your Old School Campaigns

Deep in the wastelands there are relics and beings of deep enchantment whose functions and intelligence defies conventional thought. These automatons were created in lost eras when humanity was not unlike gods. The ancients were beings of incredible skill and power whose creations still are pieces of marvel and incredible insight. But there is a dark side to these beings, for immortality brings with it a sense of wariness and boredom, sometimes it can even bring insanity. These beings should be treated with respect and caution for they sometimes have their own hidden and weird ageless agendas.

Lananche is a dangerous spell caster in his own right and wishes to use the souls of others in his bid for demonic power.
  4. Chathalurgor The Forgotten Son - This mechanism is the creation of two decades of research and black science. The mechanism looks like a golden headed god thing. He is one  who uses his powers to create the perfect being born out of black magic and dark circumstances. Chathalurgor will arrange odd accidents to almost kill these people and force their latent powers and abilities to surface.
  5. Vaulurorobarc is a mechanism that seeks to understand the bits and pieces of the human soul by carving it up with sharp knives and deadly threats. This mechanism takes the form of a giant robotic insect that has a human brain as part of its head. Murderbots For Your Old School Campaigns

Could this arcade warehouse  be the resting place for a murderbot?

Sent across time and space by the Kung Fuhrer, these horrid transforming murderous robots pose as mild mannered arcade games. These things can be found in the post apocalyptic wastelands, alternative timelines, dusty arcades of the past, in corners of restaurants and pizza joints in some space ports, & even in the ruins of the deepest mega dungeons. The barely restrained violence of these machines is fueled by a murderous A.I. whose appetite for destruction is held in check by a constant flood of quarters, credits, and gold pieces.
Murderbots once per round may create a pleasing pattern of eye catching graphics and pixels that acts as a charm spell, targets must save vs wands or be lulled into trace like state. They will be compelled to keep playing the fiendish game until all of their savings are gone. There is 60% that a post hypnotic suggestion will compel the target to return as soon as possible to repeat the experience. Any violence or swearing against the stand up arcade game has a 50% chance of awakening the transforming robotic horror! Murderbots transform into their battle forms with 1 turn. They sprout arms, legs, and faces upon their screens with expressions of pixeled hatred and rage.

There is a 30%  of the murderbot having a unique or signature weapon often reflecting the 'theme' of its game.  Most often this will be a built in machine gun system built into the forearms of the bot and capable of doing 3d6 +2 points of damage per shot with a range of 200 feet. But there is 20% chance of the bot having an 'upgrade' to a laser weapon capable of 4d6+3 damage with a range of 300 feet.

Each time the bot is engaged in combat there is a 20% chance of it going completely berserk attacking at random anyone within range. They are terrifyingly strong and capable of smashing through ordinary doors like tin foil for example it will smash through a convenience store locked reinforced door within 5-8 melee rounds. It does 1 point of structure damage to modern doors every 3 rounds. All this power comes with a price within 10 rounds a quarter, gold piece, or other monetary coin amount must be placed within the coin slot built into the bot or it will lose its weapon systems. These beings are completely immune to all illusions and mind affecting spells but they are vulnerable to light spells in their optic sensors. This will disorient the murderbot for 1d4 rounds. Because of the violent nature of these psychotic machines they cause fear in all creatures less then four hit points. All normal construct and golem strengths apply to the murderbot. Electrical attacks such as lightning and magical electricity restores the murderbot in direct relation to the number of  dice damage the murder bot has sustained. This is a result of the twisted Nazi super science of the Kung Fuhrer.
Murderbots also spy and gather information in dens of inequity and depravity such as smoke filled taverns, bars, and other locations where the forces of 'good' come to unwind. They act as spies reporting back to their masters to unload vital information. These arcade themed horrors are smart enough to often move and will depart immediately if discovered after having murdered their discoverer.

Note that this is no way an attempt to violate the copyright or trade mark of the makers of the awesome Kung Fury.  This is just my homage for the awesomeness that is this film for use in your old school campaigns. Inspired by Wisdom from the Wastelands Issue #15: Robots Part 1 for some of the murderbot's systems.

Used during the 1930's food riots and worker strikes on Earth 25 variant D, these Radio police Automatons were entirely radio controlled by a wide variety of local, state, and federal pre apocalyptic forces. These automatons were used for crowd control, military applications, and even industrial hazardous jobs where human inaction could cause loss of life.
Completely radio controlled with a small portable radio receiver unit, these units are controlled by transmitter sets specially coded to transmit a signal over three miles radius or by one of the main radio towers with a kilometer radius. The radio police automatons were easily one of the most dangerous automatons used during the pre apocaylpytic years. The arms featured small rotating discs which featured lead balls on super strong metallic cords which act as billy clubs capable of breaking bone and flesh. These radio controlled horrors are capable of gliding across pavement with easy and many obstacles in wilderness areas. The automatons had interchangable appendages and tank like feet which when changed over to the off road treads were easily able to navigate many of the hazards of traditional wilderness. The whole mechanism is held upright through a series of gears and gyroscope stabilizers.
Not only do the mechanisms have the lead weight attachments but have speakers capable off issuing orders and communicating with those around them. These speakers can also play music to disorient or confuse targets as well.
The automatons are also capable of creating a tear gas attack equal to a stinking cloud spell up to six times a day.
They also feature head lamps with intensity controls capable of making a blinding attack. All rolls at a - 4 as the light plays havoc with the senses. As the mechanical horrors move in to make claw attacks.
Powered by gasoline engines these automaton were later powered by small nuclear rod fuel cells. Older models still retained the gas powered engines. These types of remote controlled radio automatons were used extensively throughout the world of the '30's and '40's of alternative Earth pre apocalypse. They were used extensively on the pre apocalpytic Mars human colonies and can still be found on Earth and Mars under the control of local warlords and A.I.'s which have the upgraded Robolink
These mechanical horrors are still found extensively throughout the wastelands of this Earth and on Mars within ruins, dungeons, and deep underground where they're still being used for everything from guard duty to industrial applications.
These very dangerous automatons serve even as special space exploratory drones being sent into hazardous and dangerous situations in the blackness of space. They have been found even in the remotest parts of the universe and beyond.
Parts for these units are readily available and manufacturing as well as repurposing of old mechanisms has become a cottage industry into itself. Many A.I.'s use variable battalions of the Radio Police units to keep populations of mutants, aliens, and humans under complete control.
