Seas The Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing two beach themed 5 x 7 postage cards I created recently.  Both cards use the Waffle Flowet Crafts Coastal Postage Collage stencil and Postage Collage die sets.

For the first card, I cut apart the postage stamps and added them to the top portion of the card.

I decorated the lower portion using Waffle Flower Crafts Coastline Die-N-Stencil. I added a sentiment from Spellbinders June 2025 Stamp of the Month.

The red base panel was embossed using Spellbinders Mariners Weave Embossing Folder for June.

For the inside I added two more of the postage stamps & another sentiment.

For my second card, I kept the Postage Collage panel in tact. I layered it to my 5 x 7 card base which I have again embossed using the Mariners Weave  Embossing Folder.

For the inside of the card, I added the lighthouse using Spellbinders Large Die for June 2025. I also added a sentiment from the Clear Stamp for June 2025.

Walrus Skipper

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I have a card I created using some of the products from Spellbinders June 2025 Club kits, I just loved this theme especially that walrus.

I created a Centre Step Card using an older die set from my stash. The background panel uses the Cast Away Glimmer Plate which was the Glimmer Plate for June. The walrus & smaller seagull are from the Small Die of the month. The ships wheel & larger seagull are from the Stitched Die of the Month.

Finally the lighthouse is from the Large Die of the month.

For the inside of the card, I used the Cast Away 3D Embossing Folder on the left side of the panel. I added the sentiment which is also included in the Glimmer of the Month set.

For my card today I pulled out the Lorna Label Pop-up die set to create a Double Lorna Pop-up. The Lorna Label Pop-up is a re-release of a die set when Karen was designing for another company, rather than the pop-up having to be die cut into the card, this time round it is a glue in pop-up. I was pretty excited when I heard it was coming back. One of the things I used to do using this pop-up die was to create a "double" pop-up, so that was one of the first things I tried when I got my dies for this release.

To create the double pop-up using the Lorna Label die, fold your card in half and then position the die so it is lined up with the score line closest to the bottom of the flat portion of the label. You insert it into the card, the same way you would a single pop-up but of course you have a label at each side. I turned my card so it was in landscape style, but it works equally well in portrait style.

To decorate my card, I used the sand die from the Nature Edges die set to add sand along the bottom of the card. I added the palm trees from the Beach Bar Tiny House Add-ons die set.

The flamingo floaty, floaty, snorkel and flippers are from the Tiny Accessories 4 die set. I used the monkey from the Monkey & Lion die set to add to the floaty.

For the sentiment, I added the "Hello" from the Word Set 6 - Summer die set. I added the stamped "waving" which is from an older stamp set.

My card measures just under 6 inches wide by 5 inches high.

For the front of the card, I added the sand using the Nature Edges die set. I also added two more palm trees.

The umbrella, sun and surfboard are all from the new Beach Elements die set.

I also added another monkey and the snorkel, mask and flippers from the Tiny Accessories 4 die set.

Well that's about it from me today, thank you for dropping by. To continue on the blog hop, click on the next person on the list, which is Jennifer Webster

Sending You Sunshine

Hi Craft Friends,

It's been a while since I created a Mini Slimline card, so I decided to create one for my card today.

I used the Mini Slimline Layers die set from Waffle Flower Crafts, to create the layers for my card.

It's summer here in Australia, so I decided to pull out some stamps I received from a magazine I purchased last year. This is from Creative Stamping Magazine Issue 124. The girl was designed by Colorado Craft Company and was also included in the free stamp set.

I added some sentiments and a surf board image which were also included in the stamp set.

March 2023 Karen Burniston Designer Challenge

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to our March Karen Burniston Designer Challenge.

Check out Karen Burniston's blog on Wednesday (US Time) when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month, plus Karen will have an amazing video tutorial to share with us all.

Our challenge theme this month is ... "VACATION!" - where do you want to go? Beach? Mountain Cabin? Farm Livin'?

As you can see, I decided to go with a beach theme for my card. I created a pop-up card using the Adirondack Chair Pop-up die set, which works perfectly with the latest release die which was mostly beach themed.

I used the border die from the Nature Edges die set to die cut my rolling hills in the sand behind the chair. I added the sun and clouds using the Landscape Scene die set.

The palm trees are from the Beach Bar Tiny House Add-Ons die set as are s couple of the flamingos. I made the palm tree on the right side of the card, taller by die cutting two of the trunks and gluing the two together. The join is hidden by a flamingo. I also used the flamingos from the Beach Borders die set, so that my flamingos looked a little different.

I used the Word Set 16 - Beach Happy Hour die set, to create the "Beachy" sentiment. I die cut the word beach and then the "y" from the word "happy" and added that to the end of the word. I finished the sentiment using a stamp set from MFT Stamps.

To finish off the inside of the card I added two jelly fish using the Sea Charms die set and three tiny crabs from the Beach Borders die set.

For the front of the card, I used the Rectangles and Labels - Crosshatch die set to create the white layer and the patterned layer.

I die cut the word "Happy" from the Word Set 16 - Beach Happy Hour die set. The word is normally a two line sentiment, but I trimmed off the word "Hour" and trimmed around the shadow layer as well.

I added a few more of the elements that I used on the inside to complete my card.

Flip Flops Mini Slimline

Hi Crafty Friends,

I have a Mini Slimline card using some of the new products from Divinity Designs July release.

To create the Mini Slimline Card I used the Mini Slimline Card Base and. Mini Slimline rectangles die set.  The frame around the card uses the new Mini Slimline Pierced Frames die set which I die cut from blue cardstock. After die cutting the frame I place it into the new Slimline Palm Leaves Embossing folder to add texture to the frame. To get the variegated colours around the frame, I added Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide ink to the inside of the embossing folder prior to embossing the frame.

I die cut the patterned paper from the Beautiful Beaches Slimline Sized Paper Pad using the Mini Slimline Rectangles die set and adhere it to the back of the frame before adhering to the side folding Mini Slimline card.

I die cut the Flip Flops Layering Combo dies using various shades of aqua/teal/green cardstock which I layered together. I added the flip flops to the lower portion of my card.

I added a black foiled sentiment using the All Occasion Foiling Plate and Solid Foiling Plate to get the negative look to the sentiment.

For the inside of my card, I added the inner portion of the frame from the front of my card to the centre portion of the card. As you can see I had dry embossed this at the same time as when I did the frame.

I added another black folded sentiment using the All Occasion Foiling Plate and the Solid Foiling Plate.

You're the Coolest

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Lois Bak, our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Apparently today is Penguin Awareness Day.  Put a penguin or two on your card.

As you can see I created another Building Blocks Card using Studio Light's Building Blocks die set. This time around I didn't add the layers to each of the blocks, so I had more room to create my scene.

I die cut all the individual squares from blue cardstock and then blending Broken China and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide inks to them.

I used Antique Linen and Vintage Photo on the sand areas, die cutting each of the pieces using Lawn Fawn's Stitched Hillside Borders die set.

To decorate my card I used the penguins and accessories from MFT Stamps BB Penguins in Paradise stamp set.

To finish off my card, I white embossed two sentiments which were included in the stamp set.

My card, folds flat and will fit inside a 5 inch square envelope.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Swimming By To Say

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a beach themed Slimline Card I created recently.

I was going through some of the unused stamps sitting on my desk, when I discovered this fun Hello Bluebird Come On In stamp set which I hadn't used as yet. I figured it was about time I got it out to play with, so I created this card.

I used Hello Bluebird's Ocean Waves Scene Vertical Slimline Die to create the background of my card. I die cut the slimline die from white cardstock and then used Distress Oxide inks and blending brushes to color the various panels.

I added the sentiment combining two Lawn Fawn stamp sets ... Keep on Swimming and Scootin' By stamp sets. The sentiment is actually straight on the card but it looks slightly crooked because of the curve of the panel it is on.

For the inside of the card I used the same slimline die I used for the front to add some sand and ocean to the bottom portion of the card and sky to the top.

I added two more of the images and beach ball to the panel.

For the sentiments I used the "It's Your Birthday" sentiment from MFT Stamps Bitty Birthday Wishes stamp set and the "Relax and Soak up the Sun" sentiment from MFT Stamps Sunshine & Friendship stamp set.

Seas The Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing two Mini Slimline cards I created recently.

My cards using the new Altenew Abstract Seascape Slim Cover Die, this die isn't the normal Slimline size and measures 2 3/4 inches x 6 3/4 inches which is more the size for a Mini Slimline.

I sandwiched two layers of cardstock together using double sided adhesive tape and then adhered another layer of tape on the top layer of cardstock. I then removed the adhesive tape from each of the different areas and covered the adhesive with Silk Microfine Glitter from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

As you can see I created two cards one with a daytime sky and the other a more night time sky.

I added birds to the sky area on both skies using a die from Couture Creations.

For the sentiments I used Honey Bee Stamps Mermaid Song Stamp set.

For the inside of my card I added another "Sea" themed sentiment using another of the sentiments from the Mermaid Song Stamp set.

I also added the Figure 8 knot to my card which is another die from Couture Creations.

Sunny Wishes

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another Slimline card using the Beach Play stamp set from Hello Bluebird, I posted my first card using this set yesterday for a CCEE Stampers challenge, so scroll down to the next post if you missed it.

For the background of this card I used the Pink and Main Sunburst Slimline die. I die cut the slimline die from yellow and blue cardstock. Before paper piecing the sun rays into the sun ray frame I added shading to the ends of the rays using inks and blender brushes.

I used Lawn Fawn's Slimline Stitched Hillside Borders die set to created the sand area along the bottom of the card.

I added a sentiment to the right side of the card using a sentiment from an older MFT Stamps Doodle Garden Stamp set.

To finish off the card I added some birds using Hero Arts Beach Heroscapes Stamp set.

For the inside of the card, I added more sand along the bottom of the card. I added a few more animals and elements from the Beach Play stamp set.

I stamped two sentiments to the top white area of the card. The first sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Kimmie's Beachy Sentiments and the bottom one is from MFT Stamps Drink Up the Sunshine stamp set.
