June 2025 Karen Burniston Designer Challenge
Hi Crafty Friends,
I have been wanting to create a shaker card for some time, so for this card I created a full front shaker using packaging from a stamp set.
I added the birthday sentiment which is from the Lorna Label Add-ons Happy Birthday die set.
I added another giraffe, elephant and monkey to the front of the card.

Most Wonderful Time of the Year
It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Maryann Einam our challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenge.
Today is our final challenge for 2022 and also for all time. After over 15 years the time has come to say goodbye to CCEE Stampers. Over the years we have had some amazing card makers participate in the weekly challenges. It is a little sad to say goodbye to this one as for me I was one of the foundation members who started this challenge with a group of 8 people over on Splitcoast Stampers. Thank you to all of you who have supported us over the years.
Maryann tells us that it is countdown time until the end of the year, make a card using a clock, stopwatch or just numbers to end the year.
As I am trying to focus on mostly Christmas cards for the month of December, I knew I wanted my card to be a Christmas theme. I did think about using a clock in someway, but when I started thinking about the challenge I remembered the Hourglass Cards I made last year using the Hourglass die set from The Greetery. The Hourglass is a form of telling time which goes back to the 14th century.
I used the Hourglass Frame dies and insert dies along with the two coordinating die sets Christmas Time in the City and Christmas Time in the Country to create the scene at the bottom of the hourglass.
I found the sentiment in my Christmas stash, which was a free thank you gift from The Greetery, which worked perfectly for this challenge.
To finish my night time scene, I added Santa in his sleigh to the sky. This stamp is from Lawn Fawn's Winter Skies stamp set.
As you can see, I created a shaker card by die cutting the hourglass insert 5 times to create the well for the shaker elements. I was careful not to put too much inside the shaker part as I didn't want the image covered up at all.
For the inside of my card, I added a sentiment using one of the sentiments included in the Honey Bee Stamps St Nick stamp set. I also added the tiny Santa image, using Mama Elephant's Little Santa Agenda stamp set.
I added the Hourglass stand to the inside of my card this time around for a different look.

Christmas Wishes Shaker
Hi Crafty Friends,
I have a super cute Christmas themed 5 x 7 Shaker card to share with you today.
I haven't been sharing cards much this year on weekends, but I have so much I still want to share with every before Christmas that I will probably post a little more often between now and Christmas. It may not be every weekend, but there will be a few times I will for sure.
For my card today I used products from the Papercraft Society's November Box which was designed by Daisy Mae. I just love the cute little polar bear images, and even though Christmas is in summer down here, I can't resist using these images to create a few Christmas cards.
Part of the kit, includes papers and coloured images to download so even though there are a few papers in the kit as well as a stamp set, I downloaded the images. The advantage of downloading the images is, that they are already coloured and I can adjust the size to whatever I want. I did make the image for the front of my card larger so it was be the focus of my card.
To create the shaker card, I used the full front shaker card technique, using some stamp packaging for the shaker cover. I added white sequins inside the shaker which were also included in the Papercraft Society kit.
To finish off the front of the card, I added some red snowflakes using dies from the kit.
For the sentiment I used stamps from Crafter's Companion's Crafter's Inspiration Magazine Issue 5.
For the inside of the card, I used the same image I used on the front of the card, but this time at the original size. I used the coordinating dies to die cut the image.
I used the Oh So Merry Sentiment from Mama Elephant's The Penguin's Waddle set to the main part of the sentiment. I then used the Crafter's Companion stamp set again to add the rest of the sentiment. I had to piece the "We Wish You An" part of the sentiment using parts of two sentiments in the set.

Get Whale Soon
For the inside of my card, I added one of the inner panels left over from die cutting the frame. I stamped another whale themed sentiment from the Whale Done stamp set as well as the water that spouts from the whale.

Snowman Puppet Shaker Easel Card
It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Being a brand new month, it's time to introduce our new challenge hostess which is Kelly Santi.
Apparently today is International Toy Testing Day ~ show us your cards with a toy/toys on them! Think Christmas cards and Santa’s workshop, too!
Here is a quick video to see my card in action.
When I was thinking of what I could make for this weeks challenge, I remembered that I had just ordered Made To Surprise by Sam Calcott's It's Only A Puppet dies. Puppets are toys, so I figured that would work ok ... as I wanted it to be a winter/Christmas theme I decided to use the snowman puppet. I was able to get the complete collection of dies, but was able to get hold of two of the puppet die sets and the mechanism set, hopefully the remainder of the set will be available sometime in the future so I can get hold of those too..
As you can see I used the dies to create an Easel Card, which is also a shaker card. The shaker part was a little tricky as there are openings at the top, but I was able to fix it so that the sequins inside wouldn't escape. I think I have a better idea on how to do that part on the next one I make it I decide to make another shaker card.
The sentiments are all from Karen Burniston's Word Set 13 - Snow die set. I die cut each of the words from white glitter cardstock and then holographic cardstock offsetting the glitter layer slightly over the holographic layer. For the "Brrr!" I added the shadow layer which I die cut from blue cardstock.
The card will fold flat to be placed in an envelope. My completed card is 6 inches square, it does however have the "bump" at the top for the pull tab ... so that would make it 6 1/2 inches in height.

Mini Slimline Petals Background
Hi Craft Friends,
Welcome to my blog. Today I am sharing two Mini Slimline cards that uses some of the new dies from the Divinity Designs August release. Both cards use the new Mini Slimline Petals Background die set.
For my first card, I die cut the Mini Slimline Petals Background die from white cardstock and three more times from pink, purple and green cardstock.
I adhered the white Mini Slimline Petals Background outline onto a rectangle panel which I covered with Double Sided Adhesive Tape. I then paper pieced the various color pieces from the three coloured die cut pieces into the white outline. This was then adhered onto a top folding Mini Slimline card using the Mini Slimline Card Base.
I added silver pearls to the centres of all the purple flowers.
To finish off the card I added the "Get Well Soon" sentiment which is from the All Occasion Foiling/Die Duo set, hot foiling the sentiment with black foil.
I added foam strips the outline of background and added sequins into the middle of the panel. This was then covered using a rectangle panel which was die cut using one of the papers from the Sweet Hearts Paper Pad.
I added the completed shaker background to the front of a pink Mini Slimline card using the Mini Slimline Card Base die.
To finish off my card I added two gold pearls to the two outer flowers in the centre of the card. I also added the "Thinking of You" sentiment which is also from the All Occasion Foiling/Die Duo set. I foiled the sentiment using gold foil.

Paper Hugs and Cocktails
Hi Crafty Friends,
I have a fun Slimline Shaker Card to share with you today.
Earlier in the year, Picket Fence Studios offered a special kit which had a shaker/alcohol theme and was very good value. I enjoy making shaker cards and also alcohol themed cards for family and friends, so I ordered the kit. It has been sitting on my desk since it arrived and I finally got around to pulling out a could of products from the kit to make a card.
As you can see I created a Slimline card which measures 3 3/4 inches x 8 3/4 inches. I wanted the extra height to allow for the pineapple cocktail I was using. As soon as I saw the Tropical Pineapple Shaker die, I could envision it being on the sand at a beach.
To create the background for my card I started with a light blue card panel, I used the Pinkfresh Studio Slimline Cloud Builder and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink to create the clouds on the top portion of the card.
The waves come from Honey Bee Stamps Makin' Waves Long Border die set. I used one of the dies included in the set to die cut two blue strips of cardstock. I then added white pigment ink along the top of the waves and adhered the about half way up the card.
I then used Honey Bee Stamps Horizon Slimline die set to die cut the two sand panels. I could the sand using Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide inks before adding those to my card.
I die cut the pineapple cocktail from white cardstock and then used inks from Catherine Pooler to colour the die cut so it looked like a pineapple, the colours used are listed in the supply list below. I turned the pineapple into the shaker element adding tiny pineapple slices; green and clear shaker elements, all of which were included in the kit.
For the inside of the card, I added more waves and sand along the bottom of the card. I added some seaweed to the left hand side of the card as well as some pineapple pieces, umbrella and straw.
