Hip Hip Hooray Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Karen Aicken our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Being the third Saturday of the month it is time for a sketch challenge.





As soon as I saw this sketch the first thing I thought about was the Sizzix Triple Circle  Flip-its Card die. I haven't used mine in ages and have been wanting to pull it out to play, so I decide to make it work for the sketch today. It isn't an exact match, but I think it is close enough.

To decorate the front of the card I added presents from a Neat & Tangled stamp set. I also added a strip of card across the middle of the card so it would match the strip in the sketch ... I did add some Nuvo Drops to the ends of mine.




When you "flip" the card open it reveals three different sentiments. The card is probably closer to the sketch when it is pulled completely open as then you have that middle layer. I forgot to take a photo of the card completely open.

Hi all!

Today I am sharing a Flip-its Card I created using the Sizzix Majestic Flip-its Bigz die to create a birthday card. I used this cute little Shaggy Dog Tails stamp set which I have had for a while to decorate my card.

Here is the 'flip' side of my card, I added two of the sentiments and open present included in the stamp set.

Today I have a Stand Up Card I created using the Sizzix Circle Stand Ups Bigz die. I decorated the card using this cute cow from Whimsy Stamps.

 Here is the 'flip' side if my card. I added tiny squares which I turned at an angle to create the look of diamonds.

Today I am sharing a Flip-Its Card I created some time ago but haven't shared on my blog as yet. This one used the Sizzix Triple Circle Flip-Its Card Framelits.

Along the left hand side of my card I added some ribbon roses to match the roses in the designer paper.

Here is my card when it is 'flipped' open. I have kept the back panel blank so I can hand write a greeting when I am ready.

You say Witch!

It's our Riley and Company Design Team challenge time again over on the Riley and Company blog. This time round our challenge is hosted by Sandye.

For our challenge this week Sandye has challenged the Design Team to create a card with a Halloween theme.

For my card today I have used Riley and Company's Witch on Broom Riley to create a Flip-Its Card. 

On the 'flip' side of my card I used the You Say Witch Funny Bones sentiment. I masked off the solid witch on the broom before inking the sentiment so I only stamped the sentiment.

Cards That Wow with Sizzix

Hi everyone,

About 12 months or so ago, Stephanie Barnard who designs dies for Sizzix including the Flip-Its Card dies, Stand-Ups Card dies and Step-Ups Card dies emailed me to ask if I would be willing to contribute some cards for a book she was planning on putting out for Sizzix. Of course I said yes.

The book has finally been released and is called Cards That Wow with Sizzix. The two cards on the bottom left hand side of the cover are mine :)

The first twenty pages of the book cover basics like the different versions of Sizzix machines available and 'how to'  instructions on assembling the Stand-Ups, Step-Ups and Flip-Its Cards. The remainder of book features over 100 pages of cards featuring these dies and more.

After looking through the book I discovered that 41 of my cards made it into the book ... yay!

The double page spread above features two of my cards included in the book.

Today I am sharing two cards using the brand new stamps.

For my  first card today I have used Riley and Company's Burt Smiling with the Sizzix Circle Flip-its Bigz die to create a birthday card. I just love that cheeky grin!

Here is the "flip" side of my card. I used the new Happy Birthday Old Friend Funny Bones sentiment.

Lighthouse

It's our Cornish Heritage Farms Design Team challenge time again over on the Cornish Heritage Farms blog. This time round our challenge is hosted by me!

National Lighthouse Day was the 7th August, so this week our challenge is to create a card featuring a lighthouse.
