Been quite a busy weekend. Yesterday morning we went to Diss to do the weekly shopping, and then drove to the Viva Theatre in Soham to see two of our grandsons take part in the ‘Dare to Dream’ musical. The eldest grandson is currently in Shanghai on a school trip, and the two younger ones miss him, but their afternoon was taken up with performing in both the matinee and evening shows. It was a chance to catch up with our son and his wife in the bar before the show started. How sad that parents/grandparents were not allowed to take photos of any child taking part, because our 5 year old looked very cute in his dungarees (but then I am rather biased).
Today with the weather still not warm enough for the beach, Sam and I went to our allotment where there was a plant sale. Sam decided to stay awhile and plant out some more beans, so I went home and cut the grass. This afternoon we walked around the fields near our home for about an hour and a half; it was nice to enjoy peace and quiet and to get away from the cars.
We came home to a message from our eldest son that his dog had broken a nail while chasing a ball, and had to have sedation to have her nail clipped right back, cauterised and bandaged. He said she seems to time her vet visits for the out-of-hours weekend rates. Sounds expensive!
What with 3 days of rain coming, villagers are out in force this afternoon with their mowers and hedge trimmers.
