Lava is a toxic dev who ignores his long term fans, hosts illegal giveaways, heavily pushes gambling, it gets worse every major update.
Idleon couldve been great, if it wasn't made by Lava. I have been playing for nearly 4 years at this point. It was a good game. It is fun when you start , but when you hit later worlds, the polish is gone. bugs are prevelant, gambling is everpresent, promised features are never delivered on, in preference for early game only things. Lava ruined idleon with his greed. I doubt this review will stay live for long, Lava is well known to delete bad reviews, but it is all true. Lava is a greedy, self-centered dev, who a lot of the long term fan base hates, with good reason. Have a good day, thanks for reading, and ♥♥♥♥ you Lava, I want my money back.

I still play this game as I find the progression milestones satisfying to reach, but I cannot in good faith recommend this game to others because of the heavy monetization, toxic community, and the dev Lavaflame2. I'll expand below:

Firstly, the store page tags of 'Idler' and 'MMORPG' are quite misleading. While you can do the management aspect and close the game to let your characters 'idly progress', it eventually reaches a point where you have to leave the game running because it's infinitely faster to progress that way and it's not even close. Also, some grinds can only be achieved while leaving the game running, hence all the people with crazy playtimes. Beyond being able to see other players, less than a handful of group quests, and a party dungeon that has horrendous party systems and UI (which you can eventually solo), there's no other MMO aspects to it at all.

The monetization of the game is honestly quite aggressive. There's always the argument of pay-to-progress versus pay-to-win, with the former being more acceptable as F2P players can eventually reach the same 'end' by spending more time. However, I feel that the line between the two has blurred and many of the paid content in the game are arguably very pay-to-win with strong multiplicative bonuses that you cannot otherwise get through normal play. There are also items in the game that are on a terrible rotation system of up to a year, so if you missed being able to obtain them, you'd be locked out... Or buy them from the paid store. Also, you only need to do a simple Google search to find all the previous controversies/discussions about the aggressive monetization practices of this game.

The way the dev of the game manages things also does not sit well with me. Although each update comes with patch notes, there have also been many instances of undocumented changes to game, which similarly gets silently reverted/tweaked if there is enough community push back. Poor communication about updates is also a huge negative, such as the recent Dragon Warrior Statue issue (you can Google this as well). The dev also did not handle criticism of this issue well, responding to a recent negative steam review about it with "Yet they has the gall to tell me to get better. I get to make games for a living, you cry about them online in your free time, you should do better.", which the dev has since deleted probably realizing how bad it is for his optics. I screenshotted it. He also then asked his Discord to go leave positive reviews, with a screenshot of a negative review and demeaning that player's progress, which the dev has also since deleted.

If you are unfazed by the above then sure, try the game out. It's a good incremental game with fairly creative and deep systems (early on anyway) that can provide you with the big number gets bigger satisfaction. Though I must say that the game itself doesn't do a great job teaching the player these systems, and a lot of useful information will come from third party sources.
