When you press the "play" button, nothing happens, the game does not start, how to solve the problem?

I'm launching the setup and making sure its on the correct resolution and ensuring its windowed. It will open up but will crash immediately. I'm not sure what to do.

To Solve the problem with the black screen after the Eidos Logo and be able to play in full screen, you just need to use the dgVoodo 2 wrapper. Download it here: http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2.html Just copy the D3D dlls (from the MS folder) to the Tomb Raider Folder (steamapps\common\Tomb Raider (V) Chronicles) and you are good to go. Trying to launch the game or the setup tool from Steam doesn't do anything. I can launch it directly from the exe in the game's folder, but then it runs in a window. I've downloaded the Tomb Raider Multi Patch and run it - it claimed to have done something, but there's been no change. I'd really appreciate some suggestions on what else I could try to get the game running properly. Edit: turning on Windows XP (SP2) compatibility mode made me able to launch the game from Steam, but it still opens in windowe...
