It's not your mum's ****ing Solitaire. This is unlike any other, and we all know Forbidden is easily far more fascinating.

About Emily... *sigh* (-_-) ...There had come a point with Emily, a point at which I'd begged for the cessation of our correspondences.

A fantastic game that nails the 90s shareware vibe while also being genuinely unsettling. Definitely going on my top ten games of da year.

The demo came up on my store page, so I decided to give it a go and I really enjoyed it! After playing the full version, I have to say that it was very fun and well made! but I was frustrated with a few things.

To be honest, the story feels like more of a distraction than an addition to the game. Especially after getting all of these pop ups that stop the gameplay and pull you out of the atmosphere of the game so sharply, only to get to the end and getting nothing as a reward. No closure for your character (which doesn't feel like a character - I honestly felt more for the wizard in Forbidden Solitaire and the weird foot torture they went through), no closure for Shannon (the only person I felt anything for), nothing. Which isn't to say that it shouldn't have a story! I just think the story was just there at best, an annoyance at worse.

I also felt like the game itself was too short. Now I know there's the NG+ to keep playing, but during the main campaign I felt like so many mechanics were introduced in such a short time I personally had trouble keeping track of what did what, and what penalties you got for certain actions.

This game isn't bad at all - it would just be extremely benefitted by being even 50% longer/more fleshed out. It felt less like taking on a character locked in a life or death game and learning increasingly horrifying details about what could happen to you and more like... playing solitaire with annoying pop ups. I just wanted more from this.

Still, you should give it a go! I think there is a very solid base here, I loved the visuals, it's very well and clearly lovingly crafted!
