fun little organisation game. lotsa books etc...but the WORST part of the game ...I can't read the books... some of the titles sound so interesting but I am not allowed to read em

I went back and forth on whether to recommend this. It was recommended to me, and I bought it before realizing it used AI. It's a good game and exactly what they advertise on the tin. It feels just chaotic enough to be satisfying, and frankly, I don't even want to use the spells they gave me because the sorting is so satisfying. This and the fact that I paid less than a bag of chips for it is why I recommend it.

That said, the use of AI is stupid and pointless. Had they used real art on the paintings, it would have looked so much less grainy and actually beautiful. Instead, it's a whatever ambiance piece in an otherwise lovely space. You're telling me you didn't have one person from art school you could've hit up for this? "It's more expensive." It's a good game! I would have paid an extra 15% to have you not use AI and continue to set a standard for the industry. If you didn't even want to fully make your game, why should I want to play it?

This industry is going to keep cutting corners in the name of half a dozen things, but eventually, cutting the corners is going to eat into the essence of what you create. You can't cheat creativity.

TLDR: The game is good, AI use can take a short walk off a steep cliff.

"Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library!" is a singleplayer organization Simulator set in an old, magical library. Your task is to put 3,072 books scattered around the floor back onto their correct shelves.

The gameplay contains two playstyle modes. In one the clock's ticking, so you have to keep an eye on the time, the other one is more relaxed and has no time pressure at all. You can also enable a day-night cycle, which I personally always appreciate in games. As you make progress, you can choose to unlock magical abilities that help you sort books more easily and quickly by using spells, or you can do it all the human way by sorting every book one by one.

I honestly really enjoy the game so far. The map index could be a bit more specific when it comes to book genres, yet I figured out the system pretty quickly and had a really relaxing gameplay experience. I usually listen to my own playlists when I play organization or tidying-up games, since the background music in those games is often very generic and repetitive, but "Librarian" had a surprisingly high-quality and varied soundtrack. The OST could also have come from a cozy Spotify playlist called “Magical & mystical study music” or something like that.

The only thing I have to “complain” about is the lack of a FOV setting. I'd really like to see that, since I usually set the FOV to almost maximum so that the movement speed feels a bit faster. Of course that's a personal preference, but it could also help people who are prone to motion sickness.

Overall, “Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library!” is one of the most relaxing and cozy organizing games I've played so far and definitely worth the price. For what it offers, it's actually quite affordable, so I really recommend it if you enjoy laid-back tidying and are perhaps, a bit of a perfectionist.
