Im not one for long reviews but this game genuinely had got me super existential and depressed by the end of it. I only have recently finished the game and it had been such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rollercoaster of emotions Ive been through. Im don't know how to format this well but I'll start first with the soundtrack.

The soundtrack is some of the most beautiful and wonderful songs Ive ever heard. The bgm in the Resistance Camp, name Peaceful Sleep, gets me so depressed, happy and sorrowful. As cringe as it sounds, it reminds me how important and how beautiful life is. In a post-apocalyptic setting like Nier, with the whole world just a relic of what humanity had done, now inhabited by androids and machine lifeform alike, it makes our characters and their development all the more deeper for me. Androids, taking on the visage of humans, being anything but human yet LEARNING and understanding emotions and the complexities of humanity. The machine lifeforms, doing the same things, making the same mistakes, a perfect representation of humanity. When I think of the game retrospectively, it makes me feel super sad and grateful. Androids don't understand the concept of brushing teeth, medicine or anything that humans are so accustomed to in daily life, it feels super weird to just see that. To see something so apart of your life, habits that people do, being completely alien in the eyes of androids. It makes me feel even more grateful to be alive, to be here to experience this game. It makes me realize how human I am, how even though the universe out there is so large that even I am important in some way. Super cringy but I can't help but gush over this game. No matter where you are in the game the ost is just amazing, Ive heard the City Ruins theme so many times and it never gets old. The melody is just so beautiful and the lyrics although I may not understand, just FEELS impactful, it holds so much significance even though it may not be understood. The lyrics being in a language mixed from a few languages in real life, resembling how far humanity has come. Anytime I think of the game I get super ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ depressed, the experience I've had cant ever be replicated. Nothing ever made me so grateful to be alive, to have friends, to have a family. Not even the journey or the direction the game goes in, the very setting of the game gets me depressed already. With the knowledge of everything that has happened and just seeing the outcome of tragedy, living in the fallout of what we infer is something super drastic and cataclysmic. Im just rambling on, this probably doesn't mean much but I just have to share my thoughts on this masterpiece of a game.

This game is worth playing, worth going through the sidequests, worth going through its lore and seeing it from a narrative perspective. So many interpretations of this game and all of them so equally plausible. Im not one for scripts or a format for a review, but this game is worthwhile to experience blind, playing the game at ones own pace and just connecting with the characters.

When I started playing this game, I wasn't sure what to expect. To be honest, the first section, mostly that intense flying mission right before 2B meets 9S, was not what I was expecting at all, especially with the top-down view. But as the game goes further, you start understanding and fall in love with the game, its design, and its mechanics. Story-wise, wow, what can you say? You could write a whole essay about it. There are some choices which I still find interesting even after finishing the whole game with the true ending, like the camera shifting to a 2D side-view or top-down view. You do get used to this, though. Overall, I can say NieR:Automata™ is a very beautiful and interesting game, and it definitely captures your soul. After the game ends, you definitely want to play more and more. Would highly recommend it to others!

Since i finished nier, i tried was trying to seek it in every other game i played since, and i think i will never be able to find something this beutiful, fragile and almost chaotic as this game. It left me crying like a baby, made me rage like a man, and love as a teen, no other game made me feel this much about a videogame, because this is art... and it always will be.
