Finished this piece a few days ago and have a couple of words to say.
At its core, it's a straightforward, heavily scripted FPS, but what truly makes it shine is its atmosphere. The environmental design captures the look and feel of the original "Alien" films so perfectly that simply walking through the corridors becomes a pleasure in itself. Much like "Scorn", this is a game you can enjoy visually even when nothing is happening. The sound design only enhances this effect - the audio work is sharp, authentic, and genuinely impressive.

Of course, the gameplay still carries the imprint of its VR origins. Movement is limited, there's no real agility or verticality, and the pacing can feel restrained. Instead, the game introduces a dash mechanic, which ends up being surprisingly useful. Resource management is barely a concern - supplies are plentiful even on the highest difficulty, so sooner or later the whole experience starts to feel like a sci-fi shooting attraction. Fortunately, it's an entertaining one.

Story-wise, the game doesn't try to reinvent anything. You play as Zula Hendricks, accompanied by her android partner, responding to a distress signal from a distant planet. The setup immediately feels familiar, and the early moments make it clear that the facility is not quite what it seems. It follows the classic "Alien" formula - which isn't a bad thing - but it's important to note that this is only the first chapter and it ends on a cliffhanger.

Despite being labeled as “horror,” the game rarely manages to be frightening. It tries, but in practice it feels more like a themed ride than a tense survival horror experience. Still, I genuinely enjoyed my time with it. I've always had a soft spot for compact, linear shooters - especially ones wrapped in stylish, lovingly crafted aesthetics.

I believe that you'll like it as well, if you are a franchise fan.
