As much as it is cool to have a companion with you, all Sir Lora does is become a big target. I've been playing Solo Tactician and it's been somewhat irritating having to deal with a pompous little rascal. He does not fight and does nothing but flee when a fight occurs. It's like taking your kid to work day at a Black Friday at Walmart.

The only good thing he can "do" is take hits, which either saves you or buy you time. I've seen this damn squirrel take multiple arrows, spells, and explosives. Most importantly, he has no form of armor, just health! Larian just compensate his survivability by increasing his health pool and making him a couple levels above yours, and you're responsible on healing Sir Lora. If Sir Lora dies, there's no resurrection for him. At first, I splashed poison on Sir Lora because he's riding an undead cat, but nope, screw the cat, you just have to heal him traditionally. Luckily, Migo's Ring in the first Act came in very handy because I was playing as an undead tank.

Another thing I'd like to mention, since you cannot manually control or tell him to stay; you'll be dragging and setting off traps because of this squirrel. You'll might as well have a dead squirrel tied around a rope that's attached to your back. If your character is untargetable (i.e. invisible, shrouded, stasis, playing dead, etc) everyone else is going to pick on that little pretentious aggro-soaking of a furball.

I really don't want to hate him because I have yet to reach the ending with him and I just have to see him all the way through. I may be overexaggerating about Sir Lora and laying out a bunch of flaws but he's just another thing you have to think about. It's like being a nanny, taking care of troublesome Timmy. However, would I recommend *buying* this DLC? Hell-frickin'-no. You could be spending three dollars on something practical or something better.

Is he still a cool or decent DLC to have? It's alright. I don't believe it adds any new quests and I'm 99% sure. He's just... there. Being the most useless teammate.

Although I wouldn't recommend this DLC, I'd still rate this DLC a 6.5/10.

Forgot to mention, if you keep proceeding the story with him (Moving from Act to Act), he'll give you a spellbook each time. I believe it's random. Once I reach the end with him, I'll edit this review if anything major happens or change my opinion.

Edit: So some other things I'd like to mention.

Sir Lora now has magic armor, and a good amount now. This has been a thing for a while, but I'll be honest, it took me a long while to reupdate this review.

Sir Lora is now immune to Shriekers in the recent patch on December 5th. (This edit was 3 months after the review post)

Overall, Larian Studio is trying to make Sir Lora more... bearable, mainly about survivability, but OOOOOHHH there's still a major thing that really upsets me that I didn't get to mention.

In combat, depending on your environment and where you're at (usually doesn't matter where you're at but more enviornment-focused), Sir Lora can die. Yes. that bastard can die when no one is intentionally killing him because HE KILLS HIMSELF. He's still buggy during combat because when a fight initates, Sir Lora immediately runs away which is a good thing BUT he can't run too far or else he rubberbands back. You'll literally watch Sir Lora run into deadly clouds over and over.

In Act 2, once you go to the room full of petrifiable steam, Sir Lora can easily die in there and you'll rely on having another player to tread through the hazardous room.

It's great they're trying to make Sir Lora better but he's still a bit buggy. Still haven't made it to the end yet. :(

Edit 2: I've finally gotten to the end and it was such a disappointment. I mean, over time, while playing, you bond more with Sir Lora as he gains more trust on you as his loyal shield. But at the end, there was no significant event, no cameo, or scene. Before you fight the final boss, he leaves to say he will help the fight but you never see him help, assumingly, he helped in behind the scenes and you'd probably never seen him helping. That's just pure assumption. Once you beat the final boss, you can speak him for the last time about him thanking you and that's it.

If you ever played L4D2 and remember that carnival map with the garden gnome? Well if you escort that garden gnome across the end of the map, and get on the chopper, you can get an achievement. That's basically Sir Lora but he's actually interactable.

The only benefit you gain from Sir Lora is FREE SKILLBOOKS and a couple of SKILLBOOK RECIPES. That's it. It's respectable but at throughout the game, I hoard. I loot everything I can find and throughout the 4 Acts, I've collected about 75% of every skillbook in the game. And it's so easy to just buy your own or craft it. Overall, just view him as an additional challenge.

Just. Keep. The. Damn. Squirrel. Alive. (and always keep an eye on him if he rubberbands! he still does that!)
