Reuben Saltzman
CEO
Reuben is a second-generation home inspector with a passion for his work. He grew up remodeling homes and learning about carpentry since he was old enough to hold a hammer. He worked for Structure Tech since it was purchased in 1997 and is now the owner and CEO of the company.
Reuben always thought he’d be a teacher when he grew up because he loves sharing his knowledge with others. In a sense, that’s a lot of what home inspections are about, so he truly does what he loves. While Reuben no longer does home inspections, he teaches home inspector seminars all over the country. He helps to coach his daughter's hockey team during the winter, plays disc golf in the summer, and does CrossFit year-round. | President, ASHI Heartland Chapter (2014 – 2019) | Director, ASHI (2017-2019) | Director, EBPHI (2022 - 2026) | Member, EO Minnesota

Milind Angolkar
Home Inspector
Milind has worked in the home improvement industry since 1994. His background working with some of the largest names in home improvement has helped to build a strong base for Milind as a home inspector. A few of these previous jobs were Market Manager at Sherwin-Williams, Installation Coordinator at Home Depot, Service Coordinator at Pella Windows and Doors, and Project Manager at ICF Thermal Wall Structures, specializing in super-insulated foundation systems.
Milind believes that education, experience, a “nose” for the unusual, and understanding that building sciences are constantly evolving are the keys to a quality inspection. When not inspecting houses or working on his own house, Milind spends his free time at the archery range, biking, golfing and skiing. Milind lives in Bloomington with his lovely wife, Charlie the dog, Oscar the cat, and their three children. George Ury
Home Inspector
George is passionate about homes and has been lucky enough to turn that passion into a 15-year long career. His friends and clients will tell you the same. Wanting to play a part in preserving a little piece of history, George spent about 18 years (slowly) restoring a 1927 Craftsman era home in St. Paul. Not only was it a great place to live, but the house also proved to be an excellent laboratory for new technology, learning a little building science, and the perfect excuse to purchase a new tool.
When friends visited George’s home, they knew they were in for a tour. Whether it’s to explain how a tankless water heater works, the difference between linoleum and vinyl, or why he will never fix the crack in the wall, they politely listen, nod their heads, and probably think “I could use a little more wine…” Writing in third person feels so weird. And it’s exhausting. So, I’ll break the fourth wall with an update. In 2020 I moved into Katie’s condo. It’s strange to be my age referring to a ‘girlfriend’. Don’t make it weird. We’ll just call her Katie. Aaaaaaany way, I love the condo. I still get to find little projects to do (with prior Katie approval) and occasionally explain to neighbors how water source heat pumps work. Heat pumps are pretty magical. Google it. Jim Tobias
Home Inspector
Jim spent the early years of his working career opening and managing restaurants in uptown and downtown Minneapolis. After heavy consideration, Jim came to the conclusion that the restaurant business was more about the quantity of guest experiences rather than the quality, and decided it was time for a career change.
Although this was a big career change, Jim’s grandfather was a building inspector for the University of Minnesota, and his father a contractor. The move felt more natural than you might expect. Jim is now happy to be working with a company that gives its clients the very best in information and service. Jim enjoys working side by side with home buyers through one of the largest purchases of their life and strives to make it a fun and educational event. Jim is always happy to share a sports stat or note an upcoming movie while talking about proper grading and drainage during the inspection. Jim and his wife are the proud parents of three daughters, and couldn’t be happier to be learning about all of the joys of being parents. Jim lives in Saint Louis Park, MN. Bryan Scholtes
Home Inspector
Bryan is fascinated by materials and mechanics… especially how wood, steel, copper, and sweat come together to make a home. As a child, he took apart & reassembled anything he could: his Speak & Spell, the kitchen faucet, and eventually cars and appliances. He holds two design patents.
His housing fascination began in 2002 when managing his first property: a 1923 Craftsman-style apartment in Minneapolis. “Once you know it, you can’t fear it,” is his personal homeowner’s motto. Bryan believes that home anxiety is best managed through deeply knowing a house. “Homes tell you exactly what they need if you know how to listen,” is another of his favorite sayings, and he delights in telling homebuyers what their houses are saying. Bryan has been inspecting since 2016, is a graduate of The ASHI School, and has an MBA from the University of Minnesota. He has eight years of property management experience, including three years as an on-site caretaker. Bryan’s family knows that when he’s out inspecting, he can’t tinker with his own house! So his passion is put to good use for you. He lives in New Brighton. Mike Kmiecik
Home Inspector
Mike has a great passion for acquiring and passing on knowledge—traits passed down from his father and great grandfather, who also helped him develop mechanical skills from an early age. After being taught to use hand tools, Mike was soon taking apart and “fixing” his toys, then bicycles, then cars and eventually houses. He still works on his own house, his son’s truck, every bicycle he can, and even household items that aren’t necessarily designed to be fixed.
Mike’s career path reflects his fascination with learning, designing, building, and teaching. Among other things, he has been a chimney sweep, a mover, a vice-president/general manager of a moving company, a cleaner, and the owner of his own bicycle mechanic business. His mechanical aptitude and curiosity about how things work prepared him to become an ardent and detail-oriented home inspector who digs into the nooks and crannies of clients’ homes to get them the best information available. Mike spent much of his childhood in the Twin Cities. When he reached 7th grade, his parents moved the family to a very old “hobby” farm in Buffalo, MN. He spent much of his high school and college years helping his parents maintain and improve the farmhouse, farm buildings, and farm machinery, all while running his own chimney sweeping business on the weekends. Mike graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN, with a bachelor’s degree in Russian Studies. Several years after graduating, he met his wife Kerri, also a “Gustie,” and helped put her through law school. They have two children and a plethora of animals (including dogs, cats, lizards, and backyard chickens) with whom they share their 1.5 story south Minneapolis home. When he has time, Mike enjoys long bike rides on his vintage chrome Schwinn Paramount, a good book, building amazing Halloween decorations (just ask), scuba diving, being a builder/hacker, and, recently, learning how to work with hot molten glass. After earning his real estate license in 2018, he worked as a Realtor® for several large national real estate companies, including Zillow and Opendoor. Moisture Testing Release Form

  • Moisture Testing Release Form *

This form must be completed and signed prior to us conducting any moisture testing. We cannot perform the moisture testing requested by the buyers without this form being signed.

Please call if you have any questions.

Structure Tech specializes in the moisture testing of buildings for the purpose of determining if there is moisture located behind the exterior wall cladding. A moisture inspection of your property has been requested.

In order to perform this inspection, we need the permission of the owner. We should have access to all parts of the exterior. Any security systems will need to be shut off during the testing, which can take several hours. We use standard industry practices for conducting the moisture tests, which includes the use of a penetrating probe meter to verify the moisture content of the structural wood and sheathing of the building. 3/16” holes will be placed under most windows and other possible moisture entry areas. These holes will be filled with caulk when the testing is completed.

We will make every effort to use a caulk that closely matches the color of the surrounding siding; however in some cases the holes may be noticeable upon close inspection. If the holes are of any cosmetic concern the property owner can have them painted with a matching paint.

I understand the above information and give my permission to test the building located at:
