When you sign in to Chrome, Google Password Manager saves your passwords for different sites.
You can save your passwords with Google Password Manager in many ways:
- Save passwords to your Google Account: When you're signed in to Chrome, you can save your passwords to your Google Account and use them across your devices and in some apps.
- Save passwords to your device: When you’re not signed in to Chrome, it stores passwords locally on your device. This is helpful if you don’t want to save passwords to your Google Account or share them across multiple devices.
- Import passwords from your device to your Google Account: You can always import passwords saved on your device to your Google Account. Learn how to import passwords with Chrome.
You can manage passwords saved to your Google Account in Chrome or any other web browser at passwords.google.com.

Manage new passwords
- On your Android device, open Chrome . 
- At the top right, tap More . 
- Tap Settings Google Password Manager. 
- Below the search bar, tap Add password . 
- Enter the website, username, and password.
- At the top right, tap Save.
- On your Android device, sign in to Chrome.
- Go to a website and sign up for an account.
- Tap on the password text box Suggest strong password. - If this option doesn’t show, tap Password Suggest strong password. 
 
- If this option doesn’t show, tap Password 
- You'll get a preview of the password. To confirm, tap Use password.
- Finish your account sign-up.
Your generated password is automatically saved to your Google Account.
By default, Chrome offers to save your password. You can turn this option off or on at any time.
- On your Android device, open Chrome . 
- At the top right, tap More . 
- Tap Settings Google Password Manager. 
- At the bottom right, tap Settings . 
- Turn Offer to save passwords on or off.
Manage saved passwords
Sign in with a saved password- On your Android device, open Chrome . 
- Go to a site you've visited before.
- Go to the site’s sign-in form.
- To choose the sign-in info that you want to use, select the username field.
- To sign in with your username and password on your device, you may need to use your fingerprint or passcode.
If Chrome doesn't offer your saved password: To get possible passwords, tap Password .
You can add notes to a saved password to help you remember info about an account or to save details required at sign in. Once you add a note, it has the same security protection as a password.
- On your Android device, open Chrome . 
- At the top right, tap More . 
- Tap Settings Google Password Manager. 
- Under “Search passwords,” select a password.
- Tap Edit.
- In the text box, enter your note.
- At the top right, tap Save.
- On your Android device, open Chrome . 
- At the top right, tap More Settings Google Password Manager. 
- Show, edit, delete, or export a password:
    - Show: Tap the password that you want to show Show password . 
- Edit: Tap the password that you want to change and tap Edit. Edit your password, then tap Save.
- Delete: Tap the password that you want to remove, then tap Delete.
- Export: Tap Settings Export passwords. 
 
- Show: Tap the password that you want to show 
- On your Android device, open Chrome . 
- At the top right, tap More Settings Google Password Manager. 
- At the bottom right, tap Settings Delete all data Delete.

To check your saved passwords:
- On your Android device, open Chrome . 
- At the top right, tap More Settings . 
- Tap Google Password Manager Checkup. 
Learn what you can do with your passwords
Share your passwordImportant:
- You can only share your password with a member of your family group. Create a family group.
- Use Google Password Manager and update Google Chrome.
To securely share a copy of your saved password with a family member:
- On your Android device, open Chrome . 
- At the top right, tap More Settings Google Password Manager. 
- Under “Search passwords,” select a password.
- At the bottom left, tap Share . 
- Select the family member you want to share with.
- Tap Share Done. - The password is saved in the receiver's Google Account and available for autofill.
 
Tips:
- Use unique passwords for all your online accounts.
    - If you use the same password for multiple accounts, anyone you share a password with may be able to access your other accounts.
 
- If you don’t want to share this service, change your password.
You can automatically sign in to any sites and apps where you've saved your info with "Sign in automatically." When you turn on "Sign in automatically," you don't need to confirm your username, password, or third-party sign-in credentials.
If you want to confirm your saved info when you sign in, you can turn off "Sign in automatically."- On your Android device, open Chrome . 
- At the top right, tap More . 
- Tap Settings Google Password Manager. 
- At the bottom right, tap Settings . 
- Turn Auto sign-in on or off.
If you saved your passwords on previous visits to websites, Chrome can help you autofill that info.
- On your Android device, open Chrome . 
- Go to a site you've visited before.
- Go to the site's sign-in form.
- To choose the sign-in info that you want to use, select the username field.
Tips:
- If Chrome doesn't suggest a password, tap Passwords Select password. 
- On your Android device, you can choose between Google or another autofill provider to save and fill in forms automatically in Chrome. Learn how to choose your autofill provider.
If you have passwords and passkeys, or network devices, you can use filters to find accounts more easily.
- On your Android device, open Chrome . 
- At the top right, tap More Settings Google Password Manager. 
- To apply filters, at the bottom left, tap Account . 
- At the top, on the filter bar, select a category you’d like to filter:
    - All
- Passwords
- Passkeys
- Network devices
 
For easy access, you can add the Google Password Manager shortcut to your home screen.
- On your Android device, open Chrome . 
- Tap Settings Google Password Manager. 
- At the bottom right, tap Settings . 
- Tap Add shortcut to your home screen.
- To place the shortcut in your home screen, touch and hold the shortcut.
Tip: You can manage your passwords with the Google Password Manager app. Learn how to download Google Password Manager app.
Important: The Google Password Manager app provides a shortcut to Google Password Manager on your Android device. All of your data, including passwords, passkeys, and notes, is stored in your Google Account and won’t be removed when you uninstall this app. Learn how to delete all Google Password Manager data.
On your device, you can uninstall the Google Password Manager app directly from the Home Screen, App Drawer, or Settings menu.
From the Home Screen or App Drawer
- On your Android device, locate the Passwords app . - You can find it on your Home Screen or in your App Drawer.
 
- Touch and hold Passwords . 
- To uninstall, you can either:
      - Drag Passwords to Uninstall . - For other Android devices, the “Uninstall” icon may vary.
 
- On the menu, tap Uninstall.
 
- Drag Passwords 
- When prompted, confirm your selection.
From the Settings menu
- On your Android device, open the Settings app.
- Tap Apps.
- To find a list of installed apps, tap See all apps.
- Tap Passwords Uninstall. - You’ll find a confirmation dialog box.
 
- To confirm, tap OK.
You may get an alert from Chrome if you use a password and username combination that has been compromised in a data leak on a third party website or app. Compromised password and username combinations are unsafe because they’ve been published online.
We recommend that you change any compromised passwords as soon as you can. You can check your saved passwords and find sites that use the compromised password.
Chrome makes sure that your passwords and usernames are protected so they can’t be read by Google.
To change your compromised password when you get an alert:
- Tap Password Checkup.
- Follow the prompts to change your password on each site.
If you use Safe Browsing and select “Enhanced protection,” these checks will happen automatically. If you want to turn these checks off, you can switch to “Standard protection.” To start or stop getting these notifications:
- On your Android device, open Chrome . 
- At the top right, tap More Settings Privacy and security. 
- Tap Safe browsing Standard protection. 
- Turn Warn you if a password was compromised in a data breach on or off.
