How to know which type of Google Home Premium plan you are subscribed to

Standard (previously Nest Aware)

  • You have one subscription for all Nest cameras in your home.
  • Your subscription covers 30 days of event video history.
  • You used a Google Account to purchase your subscription.

Advanced (previously Nest Aware Plus)

  • You have one subscription for all Nest cameras in your home.
  • Your subscription covers 60 days of event video history and 10 days of continuous video recording.
  • You used a Google Account to purchase your subscription.

Nest Aware (1st gen)

  • You have separate subscriptions for each Nest camera in your home.
  • Your subscription covers 5, 10, or 30 days of continuous video recording.
  • You used a non-migrated Nest Account to purchase your subscription.

Why should I switch to Google Home Premium if I have a Nest Aware (1st gen) subscription?

The latest Google Home Premium subscription covers all your compatible Nest cameras, speakers, doorbells, and displays. You'll also gain access to intelligent alerts and features, such as sound detection and emergency calling (US only).

Will I save money if I switch to the Google Home Premium plan?

If you're currently on a Nest Aware (1st gen) plan, you can save money or pay the same when you switch to a Google Home Premium subscription.

For example, if you have 3 cameras, you can save money if you switch to either the Standard or Advanced plans of Google Home Premium. If you have one camera, you'll pay the same amount if you switch to the Standard plan of Google Home Premium. However, you can also stay on your current Nest Aware (1st gen) plan with continuous video history.

If you're currently on a 5-day (1st gen) plan, you'll get additional days of continuous video history with the Advanced plan of Google Home Premium.

How to switch to Google Home Premium

Important: If you are a Nest Aware subscriber in the Google Home app, you don't need to take any action because Nest Aware has been rebranded to Google Home Premium.

To switch to Google Home Premium, you need to migrate to a Google Account (if you haven't already). You'll get a prorated refund for the unused time on your previous subscription.

With an Advanced plan of Google Home Premium, all your wired Google Nest cameras and doorbells will get:

  • 10 days of 24/7 continuous video history.
  • 60 days of event video history.
